Lose Weight 20

Now I understand, thanks.
I had my weigh in this morning and have lost 1lb. I seem to have settled in to maintaining 'ok ish'. My weight seems to go up and down by 1lb/2lb, so like you say, as long as the trend is not always upwards that is okay.
I do have the odd choccie here and there (I am a self-confessed chocoholic), it helps not to have too much in the house, so the grocery challenge helps
. I got a free bag of Thorntons chocolates during the week for filling in a doorstep survey, I have been so good about them. I ate 0 the first night, 2 Thursday night, 4 last night and there's only 4 left so I can't go far wrong now :rotfl:
I've been out on my bike today, it was fun until the chain came off, I got really oily putting it back on and then had to go to the post office, library and Waitrose with really dirty hands dressed in a track suit - I did feel a bit 'choice'.
Well done on finding the clothes to fit, I need to get some new shorts/peddle pushers too but can't face the shopping.

lemondrop I am one of the peeps that has a restricted exercise programme due to health but it still is manageable to loose weight, may take longer, may be harder but in the end I got there and it works, like x-raph says it is a change of what you eat, a lifestyle change, looking at food in it's nutritional value rather than take aways etc etc so yes it can be done:D
my gas and electricity is with npower and is £100 for both on direct debit, about to change to e-on because they are going to give me 1000 tesco points (they are affiliated with Tesco) and every £ sepnt on gas/elec gets you another tesco point.
My sister in law does so well on tesco points that she has holidays with them been to mexico, europe, etc she does all her shopping there and keeps the points for all her hols.0 -
10past6 :T :T Great to hear you're going to go for it! I'm not the best one to offer kitchen advice, as my cooking skills are only basic, but sit tight and someone will be along soon I'm sure! I am trying to improve and expand my cooking repertoire (and particularly get more fruit & veg into my diet) so this is all interesting for me too.
Incidently, I started out by getting my Mum to show me how to cook my favourite things that she makes, I don't know if this is an option for you? If not, maybe another family member or friend?
I think 1lb/2lb is superb maintaining FFM! I am 2lb lighter than I was at the beginning of this year, and I've been maintaining within the same half-stone since then which is fine by me, I'd just rather be at the lower end of that
My roaming bike kit always includes a small pack of wet wipes for those chain moments! Oh and I had a nightmare with the clothes shopping, but was actually pleasantly surprised with the Tesco shorts - only £4.80 with the 20% discount they had going on! Might have to pop to my other local Tesco because there was a denim skirt I loved but not in my size... it's haunting me a bit now0 -
missyg, thanks, the wet wipes could be a good idea if I keep up the cycling. I have been so cross with the hike in fuel prices that I decided to dust off my trusty steed and use that to 'pop to the shops'. It was my way of saying to the petrol companies - well if you put the prices up I'll use less!!!! Trouble is I do have to drive for work from time to time so cycling is not a full time option - pity though.
Oops, 2 choccies just bit the dust.

Also is anyone else fed up with the assumption that most medical professionals have that you have health problems because you are overweight rather than vice versa? Although I accept that extra weight is not good for joints, I have lately had a significant (almost back to normal) improvement with a weight gain of almost a stone. Previous improvements have also occured without the help of significant weight loss. I agree that loosing weight is a good idea when obese (like me), I'm just not sure that it deserves the emphasis that medical professionals give it in certain situations.
Hi Lemon Drop
I am in Chronic pain and cannot exercise - any weight I lose is by sheer graft and calorie counting! I put weight on because of medication and I cannot seem to shift it easily (especially as I have to keep taking medication!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

missyg thanks am trying to up my walking but its difficult sometimes getting out on my own to "stride it out" because I am usually with OH who cannot walk very well because of arthritus and blocked veins in legs ,I have never slept well even when I was running round with 4 small children and a part time job , but things have got so much worse recently and I feel drained all the time .Will try the rich tea fingers [ but half a biscuit cant be done ] as I eat all the little broken bits kidding myself they only add to one bisciut so its best to get one out shut the lid and walk away ,trying herbal tea and lavender oil sprinkled on my pillow tonight fingers crossed .l:T Never Too Old to learn :T0

lol mean I'm going to drink the tea , not sprinkling that on my pillowl:T Never Too Old to learn :T0

Wendy, I also have to admit to telling myself broken pieces don't count sometimes
I'm sure it gets compensated somewhere else. Hope you manage to improve your sleep somehow, let us know how you get on.
Have just been to Tesco and had the most amazing luck, no denim skirts on display but I asked and they found me one!I now own my first item of clothing ever in a size 6
But I am so happy not because of the size but because it's a perfect fit and exactly what I wanted at a bargain price! I'm wearing it right now
Oh, if only all clothes shopping was like this! :rotfl:
We also got a couple of ice lolly making kitsThought I'd freeze some pure juice and have a couple of yummy lollies as one of my 5-a-day. Hope it works
(I know juice only counts as one no matter how much you have).
Hope everyone's had a lovely day!0
