Julesgr Thank you for posting your pictures :T you look so good :j and they will be such an inspiration to us all, I look forward to seeing your final pic idc :D ...

...'Beanie and the incident with the chocolate fountain' sounds to me like a cracking good novel to read :rotfl: I trust the scales will be kind to you ;) ...

...Lois I haven't used the buddy list, not sure what it does  but I think I can guess...

...Well, as predicted Murray made a tough opening job, but I hear he's citing a sore throat, but if I was his Mum I'd still give him a slap! He next plays someone who is again a bit lower than him in the rankings but as he is Argentinian so you have to read clay court player as they're brought up on the stuff. As the coverage is only on Eurosport and BBCi, choice is limited but RAFA IS ON TODAY :j :j so I'll be casting [STRIKE]a pervy [/STRIKE] an appreciative eye to the technical aspects of his match ;) :j ...

... Welcome Kit :T It's lovely to see quite a lot of new folk joining this week. With a bit of will power and the support here, you'll soon be seeing the lbs come off :j ...

Folks I'm so happy to be able to report a 0.5lb loss :D Especially since during the week I'd been as high as 8st 6.75lb as my weight ballooned after the first 2 days of 1400 cals!!! I am now just 1lb away from the 5lb I said I wanted to lose. It's taking forever but at least it's back in the right direction again.

All this has made me reconsider whether 'blowout' weeks are ever going to be worth it... as I can easily put on 5lb in one week, but here I am on week 6 and it could be another 2 weeks or more before I lose that amount

My average calorie intake over the past 5 weeks has been 1245/day and I have formally exercised 6 out of every 7 days, so there's no lack of discipline... gosh, I hope this isn't what I have to do simply to maintain...

So, here goes another week of knuckling down... good luck to everyone else this week! :D

    jules you look just fab:D

    kit welcome:D

missyg well chuffed for you you lost the 0.5lb you were after;)
I also wonder a lot about the blow out as I can also put on 5lb in a week with it and then it takes ages to get rid of so the torture is more than the pleasure:rolleyes: :D

Guys, I'm sorry but I have to say once more - I really do think your bodies might respond better rather than worse if you ease up on them a bit. You're right Missy, it simply shouldn't require such a phenomenal effort to maintain. You and Vic both know I only say this because I care x *goes off to gag herself*

Jules! What great pics! Red really suits you :D As others have said you look lovely in both pics, but I sense a little added sparkle in the 'after' picture! 4 stone in 8 months is excellent, well done!

FFM - hope your test results come out OK. I'm not surprised you get tired as your lifestyle must be very busy with all that you do! Mine was just a one-off last night, I feel great now.

Glad the cycling is working out for you. I know what you mean about limiting the room for shopping, I don't use panniers but it does make you think about what you buy if you only have limited space to get it home! I just have my backpack :)

Beanie, that's great about the cheaper flights! Sounds wonderful. How long are you going for?

Hi Kit, welcome and good luck on SW, look forward to seeing those lbs disappear!

Petrichor, keep the tennis updates coming! I shall keep a lookout for how your man is doing today.

Victory - thank you :D I guess the key is not to have a blowout for the entire week, but maybe just a day here, a day there? With this experiment I had been really hoping I could lose 5lb in 3-4 weeks which would have been OK, that would have meant I could have the equivalent of one week "off" every month. I'll find a solution somehow though because I'm not willing to give up my new figure OR give up being able to relax my eating habits from time to time... there has to be a balance there somewhere!

jules - wow - your pics look great. Thanks for putting them up.

missyg - well done on finally shifting that 0.5lb. It just shows that at the goal/maintain end of weighloss it really does take a lot of work. :T Well done for having such determination though!:T

Bails - I know I frustrate you sometimes :rotfl: but I do believe in what you're saying, I wouldn't have gone up to 1400 cals last week and knocked 5% exercise effort off if I didn't.

What I don't want to do is raise the cals massively - say to 1600/1700 - in one go, I'd probably gain a stone within a few days and that would be such a soul destroyer at this point (even if it evened out eventually).

I promise you I am trying to get the right balance, I just need to take it slowly and this means a degree of experimentation as well so that I can come to understand how my body responds to certain combinations, etc. Hope this makes sense?

I can see FFM losing weight some weeks and maintaining really well on higher cals and without manic exercise, and she has a lower BMR than me to start with, so I know it IS possible (thanks FFM!)

Ajax pmsl, I knew HM oldstyle bread was more dense than shop bought but that's ridiculous :rotfl:
