Thans Vix,
I don't smoke much but use it to combat stress at work, (10 cigs a week so not bad). When I don't work like at week-ends I don't want a cigarette.
I hope I can handle both.... the question is can those around me? lolSealed Pot Challenge No. 9140 -
Vix, good luck with your new weight loss starting 12th maySealed Pot Challenge No. 9140

Nikinakinoo --- from reading the posts just now would a wii fit be a help to your son? Ok exercise isn't the be all and end all of weight loss (I don't do it myself much) but it certainly helps. And the way they're all going on about it it might even be fun.
Ajax etc --- where would I go for such a thing? About how much do they cost? What else would I need to make it work? (apart from enthusiasm and energy)0 -
Welcome newbies, rejoiners and merged thread peep!
It's all happening here at the moment innit!
Nikinakinoo - would your son join up here himself and chat to us lot about weight loss? He can be relatively anonymous here so he doesn't have to worry about self awareness etc and he might get some ideas/motivation?
Suggs thanksGeneral trend lately has been in the wrong direction so I'm on the case as you can see! I want to get back to 8 stone in time for the anniversary of starting my weight loss which just happens to be my birthday. I was so disgusted with myself for being 11 stone that day, that I didn't celebrate my birthday at all (foodwise that is) and this year I need some leeway in advance so I can make up for it
I also want to prove to myself that I *CAN* lose the best part of half a stone in a month if I really go all out for it.
Tagz - good news about DD! Not so good news that you still haven't been able to get hold of anyone at the hospy...
The Dragon, keep us posted won't you. I keep on hoping that a solution can be found to enable you to be pain free AND lose the weight that you want to lose...
Vix, what's your actual last day when you are done with your studies, as in finished forever?Of course you can ask me anything you like, you know where to find me!
Hey Bargain Babe nice to see you again! Sorry about the infection and I hope you are over that now? Hi again also Suzy-Qu, best of luck giving up the smoking.
Brighton Belle
Petrichor, you must be extremely pleased about the result yesterday! Didn't Ajax do well with all his predictions too... blimey.0 -

.... Wii Fit is £70, a Wii to run it on is £180 so if consoles aren't your thing then it's probably not worth the outlay for one bit of software. You'd get it from any of the supermarkets or electrical/games shops.0 -
Sorry Victory, if it's any consolation it took me longer than a morning to get to grips with it myself. All I can suggest is going back to those links and re- reading through the method - they explain it far better than I can. Perhaps my interpretations are over complicating it.
Maybe it's because I was in such desperate need of something to help me control my expectations/activity balance/gains/losses, whereas you already have what seems (to me) like an optimal routine for yourself?
No I really like your idea of spreadsheet, the website etc the whole lot, love the fact that you can work out your calorie intake per day for the week and know that you would have lost at the end of it, that really appeals to me, like a 7-1 countdown and then on the last day, tara, lost ,told you so:D brilliant, just I can't make my brain understand the calories/numbers I need to work with, it is not you, it is me, H back soon and I am sure he can work it out for me. I am a bit like....you need to do this and that and work with this and that ,o.k? Yes, off you go then and off I goso long as I know what to do I am there:D
I have 11 weeks until hol and want to cut through to the bottom line stonage, the last 5lb have been elusive (not that it is completely necessary, I also wanted a -2 lb for the greedy days) but I have become obsessed with seeing a clear 0, WW loses or sts each week or gains if I let go, I just fancied your more scientific way of doing it and guaranteeing results.:D0 -
think i've finished my presentation for work thank goodness. working from home today thanks to nasty rash(oh the blissful pot of sudafed) so logged on to my own laptop to have a bit of a rest. Just been on the sw website to check out hte syn count of my lovely health bars that i'm stocking - all made with fruit and nuts and no sugar and low fat and all that stuff. 5 syns for a 30g bar. yowch! i might suggest they get in touch with sw, i reckon they might be a worth a healthy extra but i have no idea how to work it out. did i mention i broke the oven at the weekend too? trying to all old-style, decided to clean the oven with bicarb of soda. With no real idea of what i was doing i i followed the rather vague advice of wet the oven and sprinkle the powder on to form a paste. The nice oven mending man has just finished chipping the coating of concrete soda off the burner and taken £30 for the privilege. No more oven cleaning for me, now it stays manky.0

Hey all, a 3.6 lb loss for me this week! :j Really pleased as I was dreading going back over the 15 stone mark. Now at least I have a little safety net :rotfl:only 9.6 lbs to lose for my June target!
A friend at work come round today with a bicycle she doesn't use, it needs some work doing to it, brake cables & the like, but should be handy until my step-dad comes down with his for me in June.
