  • hello all, haven't been here in ages. Can I join again pretty please? Ajax I have my new wii fit too and thought now is the time to get myself sorted and its for the whole family to see. Luckily (or not!) I've been really poorly with a chest infection and have lost over half a stone, but my wii mii is still an obese podgy little thing!

Once I am fully better I will do more training on that, it is fab! But I'm hoping I don't start eating loads again now I have had a while where I haven't eaten much.

Well done to all of you who are motivated an losing and hello and good luck to anyone else

LOL B-babe you should see mine - he looks like a barrage balloon.

Sorry to hear you've been ill, but your Mii will help you continue the loss while healthy :)

How about if you get him to learn to cook for himself. Healthy meals obviously, and take him shopping (walk there and back, daily, carrying shopping) My middle son played loads of sport, and ate like a horse in his final year at school, and in the 6 months after he left and went to college dropped all the sport but carried on eating as if he was still playing it. He wasn't keen on the idea of a diet - lettuce being for losers, but was quite happy to learn how to cook. We got a Jamie Oliver book from the library and began to work our way through it. We shopped in the evening - walking to the shops and back again, then cooked it, then ate it together and talked about how it compared. He lost loads of weight, and so did I, and he kept it off even when he started driving because he actually takes an interest in what he is eating and hasn't reverted to eating biscuits and crisps (although he still eats a mixing bowl full of cereal with a pint of full fat milk over it, if he is really hungry!!)

    Good luck

BB: Youre turning into ajax. Making me want want want a wii!! Hope your chest clears up soon!

Missyg: How clever are you! Love a bit of excel spreadsheet! When i resume my weight loss perhaps i should do something similar. If you dont mind i'll ask you nearer the time *pwease, cute face, wobbly lip* :D

The dragon: Errrrm. Well i gotta write my disseration, and i'll probably try and get more hours at work. But seeing as im not going to be able to travel i wanna have some free time to go away for weekends and events and work around when my boyfriend has time off. Gunna wait for my life to be over in 2009 i think!! I still dont think im old enough to get a career, that still seems about 5 years away for some reason! Hopefully i'll have a baby by then. Or at least a house and be mrs someone. I say someone cos im still working on my boyfriend having my surname and me not having his!

..errrrr.... I can't remember. I was really struggling to time the steps right getting on and off the board and was concentrating on that :) (it's a bit like Guitar Hero except it's feet on the board rather than fingers on notes.

Sorry Victory, if it's any consolation it took me longer than a morning to get to grips with it myself. All I can suggest is going back to those links and re- reading through the method - they explain it far better than I can. Perhaps my interpretations are over complicating it.

Maybe it's because I was in such desperate need of something to help me control my expectations/activity balance/gains/losses, whereas you already have what seems (to me) like an optimal routine for yourself?

    Hi everyone

Mind if I also join in after being away a while?

I asked Delly if she would kindly take me off the chart (thank you Delly) but I'm still trying to eat healthily and although I don't smoke very much...... I'm going to try and give that up too. Has anyone on here managed to give up smoking and control their weight (or even lose weight) while doing so?

Starlight and Granny - you're both such inspirations. Those photos are marvellous. You both glow!

Good to catch up with all your news everyone.

    Welcome back suzy.

In my opinion i would concentrate on giving up the smoking first. To me that is more important than loosing weight for now. Giving up smoking will create chemical imbalances in your body that it isnt used to which is a reason why its so hard to stop. I think you'll have a better chance of giving up the smoking if you concentrate on achieving that and then once you have given up you can concentrate on losing the extra pounds.

But, at the end of the day you know how addicted you are to smoking and whether you think you can handle both!
