OH yeah, doh! I knew you'd mentioned it but must've missed that you'd already applied. Really hope you get a place, would you consider a Golden Bond place if you don't? Do you have a charity in mind?

  • Hi everyone!

Could you put me down for a 1lb loss this week please. It is by some miracle or fluke of nature though! It might be down to the 5 mile walk I did at the weekend as it certainly wasn't what I was eating!

Well done to all the losers and maintainers, to the gainers - there's always next week.

    And to Beanie CONGRATULATIONS:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j

The Dragon checking in here on Wednesday with a 1lb gain :o, I am not overly upset about this as it has been an ..... interesting week. Monday DrDragon woke up and just said he couldn't cope with work any more (not all work just where he is) which is not like him - the Docs have been monitoring his BP and his pulse seemed (to me) to be racing so quick call to the Docs and we both have an appointment for 10 in the morning so I have 30 mins to get bathed, dressed and outside into the car AND I AM DISABLED!

But I did it and we got our BPs checked - mine was slightly up, Dr Dragon's was 150/104 HHmg so the Doc signed him off for a fortnight with Work Related Stress. (memo to self book him an appointment for next Thursday!), stress means I stop eating which means I put weight on (I know insane but this is the way my system works!)
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

Right, I know you running types are gonna laugh your heads off at my times, but here goes :rotfl:
    • Brisk walk to the park as my warm up: 1400 steps approx
    • Alternate running/walking laps of the park, starting and ending with a running lap so slightly more running: 8600 steps approx
    • Ran/walked back: 1400 steps approx
    • Stretches (as if I'd forget!) & bath ;)
    Pedometer readings: 10,006 steps, 4.110 miles (@ 26 inch stride), 264 cals
Estimate: Ran 43% of the distance (do I deserve a few extra cals for that?)
    Time: 1hr 15mins - no breaks

I wasn't going 'all out' so I know I can improve on that, but it was my first one so I just wanted to set a guide.

Runners what do you think? Could do with a sanity check on the distance and cals to see if you think they look reasonably accurate?

Congrats to all the losers & STSers so far, good luck to those still to weigh... anxiously waiting to hear what Wendy's decision was! :D

Thanks Efrieze, I know what 5km feels like now although not to run the whole way as you do! How often do you run? Love your chart. Mine looks exactly the same, a great big slide down and then up, down, up, down as I try to maintain! You seem to have yours a lot more under control this time that you did before though.

Mollymop, well done on your terrific calorie-blitzing walk this morning!

The Dragon - sorry about your DH, hope the time off helps sort things out.

Time for lunch now, a good old jacket spud with beans & (lighter) cheese :D Need to replenish energy for a bit of wii-ing later :D

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Missyg: When i swam is was cruicial to stretch after the first warm up. So after the brisk walk i would do some leg and arm stretching!

Beanie: Fabulous news!! Congratulations to you! Hope you feel very proud of youreself for meeting your target weight. :D

Dragon: Hope you and hubby get some good chillaxing in to reduce your BP. Nice weather, a bit of gardening perhaps?

Brighton Belle: I think i have some old fashioned views on a relationship :( i think ive seen how my parents are after 40 years of marriage and its rubbed off on me!

Well done to the losers and maintaners. I dunno how you guys get up and exercise, i woke up this morning and thought, yea im gunna go on a walk today. Now im up and today is here i really cant be bothered, i think half of it is that i dont like doing it on my own, but i dont know anyone else overweight to join me :(

anyway, enough moaning. Im still plodding on with PMT!

Being back on SW is such a boon. Can't believe how focussed I feel.

Here's "Plan A". Lose a minimum of 16 lbs by July 4th. There is no Plan B!

16 lbs in six weeks is not easy but is not impossible. It's a steady race and there are only 2 hurdles I can see at the moment :-

    - this Saturday = Italian meal out (my 1st anniversary on Monday)
    - 14th June = brother-in-law's wedding so will be expected to partake in a half pint or two

If things aren't on track after 14th June then I still have almost three weeks to catch up. No excuses. No more Mr Nice Guy with my lard. Again, There is no Plan B. It's me who lost 4 stone only to put 16lbs back on, and it's only me who can lose those 16 lbs. This is the time - I am SO up for this. BRING ON THE 4th OF JULY !!!!

    Motivational rant over! :D
