Oh lordie!! I'd forgotten how fast this thread moves >< So busy at work atm (I'm 3 weeks behind) but I'll make time to catch up to the thread later.
wendyw1947 - Firstly congratulations on your excellent original weight loss. With regard to how you feel at the moment I'd suggest you do make yourself go to class. Get weighed officially. How can you claw back your gain if you don't know what it is exactly? Pick up a food diary and get back to basics at the very least start recording everything you eat. I know I'm preaching to an expert (sorry) but I'm into my second week and I've already got cocky about what I'm eating (I'm an old hand at SW
) and I've badly damaged my new healthy eating plan already. It is so easy to do...
Take a deep breath, find a quiet space and write down all the reasons why you do NOT want to regain all the weight. It may help to see it in black and white. Good luck with whatever you decide but try to buck up mentally. You know it's a viscious circle of self loathing, comfort eating, more self loathing but you've obvious broken this cycle before and you're strong enough to do it again.
Many, many, congratulations Beanielou :T
Weight loss of 3.5 lbs (first week yada, yada, yada). I'll wait for my second week weigh in before I get excited
Must go work. I'll catch up later.0 -
Dilemma: Got on the scales this morning and weighed myself. 30 seconds later, wanted to check that it was still the same (!!!!!!!!!) and it said I was 1lb more than it said before. If this has happened to you, which weight do you feel you acknowledge as the right one. I know it's only a pound but do I steal it from this week's achievement or make next week a hard week to lose in becasue I have already taken a pound away! Dilemmas, dilemmas0

Hi Mum
I think you need to give yourself a break but not miss the SW class. You are allowed to have to the odd 'bad' day even weekend/week! You have to be able to enjoy yourself however you do also need to make sure you are remaining healthy. Yes it might be a downer to go and see how much/if you have put on weight but it will also tell you how your body reacts when you go off the rails a bit. Use it as a learning exercise, and be positive. In the grand scheme of things a couple of pounds is nothing compared to five stones! If your OH and DDs want you to stop that's up to them but it is you who should decide!
Chin up Mum!!!I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -

.... weee, being a laboratory quality control analyst finally proves to be of use. There's an official procedure for this type of thing efrieze - when a pair of supposedly identical results don't match up, do another pair and submit those. Chances are you will get a matching pair and a "best 3 of 4". And that's official lol.0 -
Well Done Beanie!!!!!!I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0

I think I didn't want you to say that because I then reweighed myself 4 more times and it came up with the same (higher) weight. So much for electronic scales being accurate. Can't complain though, on the higher weight I have lost 4lbs this week (5lbs sounded amazing though  ). I have therefore lost 8.5lbs in 2 weeks (having gained a total of 8lbs in April) so I am happy becasue not only did I manage to reign it all in, but I am also at my lowest weight (despite not keeping that extra pound this morning - I'm not bitter, oh no!).
It must be all the exercise I am doing. 5km runs obviously agree with me!0 -

... ok 5lbs sounds great, but then 4lbs sounds just as good to me. :T
By the way - 5km runs don't agree with anyone but mad folk. 5km runs are the work of the devil, and those that partake should be sat in the stocks and pelted with rancid tomatoes. The views expressed here are those of the poster and do not reflect the views held by moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Lemon Drop - I love the idea about arranging treats to keep you going, I've done a few of those. The one I've been aiming for is a beginners indoor climbing course. It's expensive so to get the most of out of I want to have an ideal strength/weight ratio before I start.
Efrieze - Congratulations on the 4lbs, that sounds no less amazing to me than 5lbs does!
OK don't faint everyone but I am going to go out for a run. Yes, a run. Are there any walking/running peeps on here at the moment who could give me an idea of how many steps make up approx 5k? Just a very rough idea will do. I'll try to run/walk this distance, or do about 45 mins. My pedometer is a bit rubbish so it might not be accurate.
Bit worried about the sports bra situation but I can't remember the last time I actually had the urge to run so I have to do it!0 -
