Pleased to say I have lost 2 1/2 lbs and I have finally reached my target.

Beanie, this was so spectacularly understated!! SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS! :j:T:beer:
    WOOP, WOOP,
    Beanie's reached target!
I hope you are truly happy Beanie, you've had a difficult journey to get here with everything else and I have true admiration for your perseverence and determination (oops, set me off this end - I think I'm almost as happy for you as I would be for myself) xxx

Dilemma: Got on the scales this morning and weighed myself. 30 seconds later, wanted to check that it was still the same (!!!!!!!!!) and it said I was 1lb more than it said before. If this has happened to you, which weight do you feel you acknowledge as the right one. I know it's only a pound but do I steal it from this week's achievement or make next week a hard week to lose in becasue I have already taken a pound away! Dilemmas, dilemmas :)

Best of 3 Efrieze, records wise (take it with a pinch of salt emotions wise ;)) Still wanna hear about your new trainers! :D And don't feel like a fraud, you're out there and doing it, that makes you a runner! Watch out though, it's properly addictive :j Now Missy's got the bug too - Ajax, it's a-coming your way :rotfl:

Marion, fabulous result from your holiday! I am glad you found a way to mark your mum's funeral that made you feel better. As for the photos in the Sun, go on, I dare you! :D All the feelings you describe are entirely normal, and bloody great eh? :T

I hope you guys don't mind if I show you something.

I am thinking about the concept of maintenance (albeit that I am still not at my target). Maintenance has always been a challenge for me (as I am sure it has been for some others). I always used to say that I can't maintain so there is not point trying.

    efrieze.jpg

I think you get my point!

Anyway, with the help of this thread I WILL achieve my goal and stay at it - and so will you guys (especially Beanielou - I hope the new challenge of maintenance is an easy one!)

The other point to make here is that I didn't get on a scale for 5 years! I think that if we are going to splurge and indulge, if we keep an eye of the scale maybe we can reign it in before it is too late and 5 years have passed and 7 stone had been gained! Note to self - not preach to you guys!

Thanks lois for really helpful info about couscous & chickpeas as flour substitute- I cooked the chickpea cake for the first time last week on the understanding it was free on green - nope, according to your link, so I'm glad to know now!
Wendy - some great advice from the otherside of the argument too. Do let us know how you are this morning and how we can support you today.
trampo.gifBeanie - fab fab fab! BEANIE HAS REACHED TARGET band.gif Beanie - you have worked so hard to achieve this while coping with health and teenager issues! I can't tell you how big the smile is on my face becasue of this news:T
Retiredlady - so glad you hear you so upbeat and feeling good in your own skin. I liked what you did for your mum and that you know that it would have made her happy.
Pink lipgloss:T & erlqueen & Efrieze - excellent news: another nail in the coffin of any belief that you can't ultimately keep this weight off:T
Felt ready to weigh myself today after 2 very 'on plan' days and am pleased with the damage limitation after a weekend of bread, bread, and lashings of butter. I do have to report another 1lb on efrieze, which is the 3rd week in a row I have gained a lb, but it stops here. I like the size and shape I am now and I have got refocussed to shed the excess 4lbs. (Mr BB has lost another 1lb, so 8lbs in 3 weeks and got up early for a 5 mile walk on the seafront this morning).
PS you should see my before photos pinklipgloss - shudder. But give a great wow facter when you have lost weight.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Me too efrieze, thanks for the link to mapmyrun, It seems very good and will be very helpful for when I finally brave it outside the gym and onto the roads! I did my 3miler last week in gym at 27mins. I do run every day either 15mins or 2miles depending on how I feel. Oddly I run after the cross trainer and bike  must be a reason, but I cant think of one. Im still chasing the weekend gain down, but for the sake of the chart, please use the Friday figure :)

Now all that chat about running and walking, well done BB (sorry about the slight gain) and molly I shall pack up and head to the gym myself :)
