Efrieze!! Its all your fault and that Missy's fault too, I went to the gym did the bike for the usual 15mins and then looked at the treadmill, it looked back, you know Im sure it even winked at me!! So I climbed on, set the timer for 30mins and started. Its the boredem that does me in, anyway 31mins later I had completed 3.5miles or 5.6km a new best distance for me!! and time.............So Thank You Both!! :D

Ajax, I concur with the ladies suggestons, MrsS would slap me senseless if I gave her La Senza vouchers. So maybe vouchers for a nice clothing store. Or even take the lady shopping yourself on Monday, add in a touch of lunch and make a day of it?? All the best with your Plan A. Im sure a man of you ability will do it, and if you dont, you wil have some xplaining to do!!

Missy Well done on you first time! Hopefully your enjoyed it? I am full of admiration on your and Efrieze's ability to go outside and jog, I cant bring myself to do it just yet. But am fully aware that I will need to soon. According to http://www.nutracheck.co.uk/Burning_Calories/Burning_Calories.htm
you burn 644cals an hour. I doubt this is really accurate as it depends on weight and over things too. Step numbers look good.

Dragon, hope all ok with yourself and MrD, as reason for the stress? Did I miss a post or something? Sorry about the slight gain.

Bails Apologises if I came across badly in my response to you. Didnt mean to snap, I was concerned you were going to tell me off for not running enough :o

    Well Done Claireabelle

Back Soon phone call to make

    ........<cough, splutter>.... are you MAD? :D

Nah, that aint really practical. If I were to do that she'd just pick the cheapest thing she could find that was semi-liked and have that as her present. She's ridiculously 'polite'. The only thing to do is to say "Here's the voucher, the dosh is spent, now treat yourself for flip's sake"

:j :j Fantastic result Beanie :j :j .... I'm just SO impressed with your ability to stay on course despite all the challenges that try to steer us off course. You are a CHAMPION!

Efrieze -- I would have averaged the two results, but hey, 4lb or 5lb -both are brilliant results.

I'd like to record a half pound off this week. Well actually I'd like to record a half stone off, but who'd I be fooling?

I'd like to support Vix in her use of the word chillax. We've just started a ten minute relaxation time with all our children after lunchtime every day and it's called chillax time. It isn't in the dictionary but it just IS a really good word. Nyah.

That's really really great. I did 5km in 33mins on Monday evening (so not so fast). I am going to aim for further next time, I think. Good for you, though. Good start for training for a marathon.

It is a bit boring (and exhausting) but ipod in, challenge on...!

... sounds to me like it should be called idle teachers, don't they get enough relaxation already? If it ain't infinite holidays, teacher training days or strikes then it's new excuses called 'chillax' time. Nyah to that then!!!!!!

    (she's gonna kick my a$s isn't she?)

....nise, in the place I work if we averaged 4 and 5 and then 'rounded' the result to whole numbers, you'd expect it to be 5 wouldn't you? Not here - the result would be 4 :)

So what's wrong with 4.5? Don't you work to one decimal place?

AND it's a training day on Friday AND then it's half term so yes, a load of idle layabouts.

Well yes I am 'as a hatter' as they say. Well I did run 5km today ;)

I actually heard Chilax used on the local BBC station the other day, cant remember the show. It even appears on Google! Back onto your good lady, why not a night out? a show or something?

Thanks Efrieze, Methinks your leading the way on this one :) I have no doubt I will slow down speed wise as distance increases. I have a mp3 player on the go already, full of podcasts and music, even have my own 'gym' playlist :)

..... we work to however many significant figures are required. When there's a split right down the middle though, like 4.50 when reporting integers then we round to the even number rather than the higher number. 4.165 to two significant figures would be 4.16 rather than 4.17

Yeah Suggs way to go on your new personal best! :D It's Efrieze's fault, not mine ;) She started it ;)

You know what? I think I did quite enjoy it, thank you for asking! It was a nice day for jogging, sunny but not too hot. The main thing is I feel good about doing something completely out of my comfort zone, and something I generally "don't do"! I have a set of numbers now, so I will definitely have to give it another go :p I've given myself 320 cals for the 75 min session - 160 for the walking (which I did more of) and 160 for the running.

Efrieze, it didn't even occur to me to put my MP3 player on, yet I do that all the time in the home gym :o Will give that a go next time, I'm sure it will make it seem easier. Much too soon to say whether this will become part of my routine, but we'll see.

LOL Granny - congratulations on your half [STRIKE]stone[/STRIKE] pound off! Love your sense of humour :D

Ajax, if not John Lewis is there another nice department store near you? I think that would be a good bet. Upmarket and loads of choice. Even fussy old me can find something I like with a Debenhams voucher or similar!

We're doing the night out anyway, she's treating me to the Italian meal. We do shows in London regularly... I just want her to have a splurge on something she really likes that she wouldn't consider if she paid herself.

... yep my mind is made up, it's a Debenhams voucher. I just hope it's not a gift card rather than voucher, as the whole point is that it's paper for the first anniversary.
