first :j :j :j :j then MIL was here at the weekend and she made with pots corn beef and potato pie not sure calories fats etc but the kids and OH thought it was lush and could not get enough of it...

boil pots in water do not add salt as corn beef is salty enough....
add onions diced to the boiling pot, I also added carrots to get the kids eating veg but the MIL does not do that....
Wait for the pots to cool down completely and mash with the corn beef ,add a dash of worcestershire sauce if liked, put in shortcrust pastry (MIL used Jusroll shortcrust but there I have been told on GC cheaper pastry than that) cook for 25/30 mins gas mark 4 or until pastry has turned golden, remember all you are cooking by that stage is the pastry as the pots, onions are all cooked, drained and mashed, lovely it was so I am told and the perfect way to use up lots of pots (make a huge pie and freeze the rest or make them into cornish pastie type looking things and freeze those) :D
Thanks Victory, it does sound lovely - will give it a try!

Who wanted to use up potatoes? try the rosti recipe on the recipe thread that i posted, or if they're quite waxy ones ( like new potatoes or maris pipers) try the potato risotto. OR what about the portuguese canja? OR try here

    Hey peeps

I posted this on another thread, but never recieved any responses  so thought I'd try here.

How do you all manage your recipes, I've copied the odd one or two from this site, and put them into a folder, however I'm so disorganised with it, I can never find the recipe or tips I'm looking for, any advice please?

    Hi 10past6

I have an nice ring binder and I print recipes off and put them in sections for starters, mains, desserts, snacks, breakfasts and lunch ideas. Each of these is separated by cardboard separaters (the standard thin cardboard ones you sometimes get in the ring binder when you buy it). This works for me! but try a few ideas out until you hit on a system that works for you!

Oh just to add I put the recipes in plastic sheets so that you can take them out, take them into the kitchen and then if they get splattered you can just wipe them down

Humph!! what do you mean JUST!!! Well done you! and even more dancing rodents on the inch loss! each inch off you means clothes fit better and you are working towards a smaller clothing size (if that is your aim in life) - go you!

    Morning all

Thank you Jules for the soup info :) I don't usually make soup but I might give that a go. I don't have a blender but I used to press stuff through a sieve to make baby food, or just mash it like crazy :rotfl: Petrichor - great minds ;) that's how I usually cook the carrots & parsnips if I'm doing a roast dinner (lol at ur joke too :rotfl: )

Procrastinator you've shamed me into making sure that if I don't go swimming today I at least do a tough workout in the gym. Hope it all pays off for you as you hope! Great efforts :D

Starlight, 1lb off, 6.75 inches off and down a dress size! :D All three of those things are fantastic so please no ":(" at the 1lb!

Victory, I hear you about the weather... wonder how long before the shorts can come out again?

Out of the sports bras I ordered online yesterday one is being sent out straight away, one in 7-10 days, one in 2-3 weeks and the other isn't available until September :rotfl: I was hoping to compare all four for fit

Right I'm off to check the pool timetable, as long as there's not some shared use thing going on, I might wander over...

Have a good day all :)
