    Hi peeps

Thank you all very much for your advice and encouragement, I'm not going to give up on this adventure, I knew when I started this adventure there would be the odd disaster, I've done well with the meals I've cooked this week, however, today was just a complete disaster, the baked bean loaf didn't even taste nice, I've learned from that one, I doubt I'll cook that again.

Re the coleslaw, I've learned from that also, I won't be using fromage frais again, what could I substitute it with, as for the ingredients, I'll cut back on the white wine vinegar.

This is a learning curve for me, so experimenting is part of that process.

One again, my thanks to you all :A

Oooh Vix congrats on the ticket win! :D That'll be brilliant.

    Efrieze.... like a prune :rotfl:

I am doing the roasted carrots & parsnips for my son with some chicken this evening and tomorrow I'm going to try Purplecatlover's coleslaw, I think he'll love that! Still have more left so will hopefully try the other ideas too, maybe tomorrow :D You lot are great! :D

Suggs - triple WOW! Maybe your muscles relaxing slightly now that they don't need to be primed for action every week :p Sorry about Cardiff ... what happened? [OK I've just seen what happened :(]

LEMON DROP where are you based? I would love someone to go ice skating with, I don't mind doing virtually any exercise alone but that one is really so much better if you have company :D What stage were you at before? I love skating. Skating the Rideau Canal was one of the best days of my life.

Hiya Bails, it's great to hear of your success without the scales! Hope kitten-motherhood is treating you well too! Are you up to much this weekend? Anyone else got any good plans?

Procrastinator, 42 lengths is fabulous! Up until a few months ago I would never have believed I could do 100 either. Maybe one day you'll just feel 'in the zone' and go for it :D

10past6 - great attitude, sorry cooking didn't go well, I wish you better luck with the next one!

Thx missyg, well done on the swimming, I think swimming is very therapeutic, it's amazing how one's worries / issues can be so easily distracted by a pool of water.

Lemon, well done for having a lye in your body must have needed it, it's a pleasure to see you're lifestyle has turned round from being virtually housebound, keep it up.

Peeps, I'd like to cook a vegetable curry tomorrow, does anyone have a recipe I can follow please?

mm, roast! I agree with Missy, 100 lengths is possible if you build up to it gradually. Way to go Missy and Procrastinator!
We're off to London on Saturday for OH's family reunion and then a party. Hoping to get to gym tomorrow morning first, then on Sunday Mum is bringing Dad up to try and persuade him to have the torty kitten :D Enjoying motherhood Missy, thanks - no desire for the real thing tho!

    Hey peeps

I posted this on another thread, but never recieved any responses  so thought I'd try here.

How do you all manage your recipes, I've copied the odd one or two from this site, and put them into a folder, however I'm so disorganised with it, I can never find the recipe or tips I'm looking for, any advice please?

    Hi 10past6

I cut and paste mine into a word document and then if I am trying to find something I just do Ctrl F and put in a word that is in the title or an ingredient. It's about 30 pages long now.

When I have made my mind up to cook something I print 2 recipes to a page in 2 columns on Landscape and file them in plastic wallets so that they can be wiped clean (just like a previous poster). I use quite a large font so that they are easily legible.

The plastic wallets I use are quite cheap from Tesco 40no for 50p in the value range http://www.tesco.com/superstore/xpi/7/xpi57537257.htm

Been feeling down since yesterday :( My mum is being really gay at the mo. She never wants to anything just me and her, it kinda hurts that she seems to not have any time for me now. Even in my exams, i didnt really get any support or encouragement, just "we cant help that the electricians are here this week" kinda stuff.

The last time mum and i had any time together was when we went to the spa for her birthday nearly a year ago. I always see mothers and daughters shopping in town together or doing things together. Maybe im being silly and i need to grow up or something, i dunno.

Sorry, i needed to offload again.

    Hello Vix

Do you feel comfortable giving a bit more information?

How old are you, do you live at home, do you have any brothers & sisters, a bit of background would help understand what it is your up against.

Oh Vix! I can't be your mum cos I'm your granny .... but I would otherwise. :kisses3: :kisses3:

What if you asked your mum to do something but give her a bit of notice, say a week ahead? Maybe she's feeling pressured by things she's got to do and really wishes she could spend more time with you.

Talk to her about how you feel.My daughter (29 so getting on a bit) still comes and sits on my bed and talks to me if she's staying here. Sometimes I wish she'd not, because I need more sleep than she seems to, but it's a good strategy on her part cos I can't get away. Maybe you could talk to your mum by doing that ... or when she's in the bath.

It's not about growing up. Having a good relationship with your mum is something we all want, I think.
