hi all, 10past, so glad that you are enjoying the cooking - thats half the battle. I don't think you've bought anything that you won't be able to use up either. I'm not sure why your muffins stuck - if it's the sort of tin that i think it is they shouldn't stick at all. It might be the type of recipe that it is sorry i'm not more help. As far as subbing oil goes, with baking it's dangerous territory. You can mess about with oil versus butter, or low fat spread, but baking does have an element of chemistry about it that you need to be thinking about. I think seren meant more in savoury things - lots of celeb chefs like Nigella - down ajax, down - splash the olive oil about like there's no tomorrow and you can cut down or even cut it right out quite easily.
Who wanted to use up potatoes? try the rosti recipe on the recipe thread that i posted, or if they're quite waxy ones ( like new potatoes or maris pipers) try the potato risotto. OR what about the portuguese canja? OR try here

Great stuff Lemon Drop! I didn't venture out on the bike today
I need to make up for that tomorrow BIG time, might attempt 100 lengths at the pool as penance for being truly terrible today.
Just had a junk food 'cull' around the house. Don't worry, no crisps, sweets or chocolates were harmed and they will be going to a loving new home
It's getting like Ready Steady Cook on hereIt's fun! Any inspired ideas for an excess of carrots and parsnips? Was just going to serve with some chicken tomorrow but open to other ideas?

MissyG you have what makes my fave soup there, All you need is some onion and ginger.
Sweat the onion, add 6 chopped carrots and 2 chopped parsnips, add some thyme and fresh ginger(or ground if you don't have fresh) add 2pint of stock, cook for 20 mins until veg is soft then blend and serve. It's always best to experiment with teh ginger I like lots other don't like quite so much but it can be topped up at the end.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0 -

Hello
I am back from my swim - did 40 lengths, quite a few on my back as I find that the most strenuous, alternated with breast stroke. I cannot co-ordinate my breathing for crawl. I have walked 4000 steps. I want to up my daily step total -I managed 11500 yesterday which was great. Just weighed myself and am 1lb over the 11 and half, hopefully that will be gone by tomorrow. Had a small snack of natural yoghurt, mandarin and a little honey, probably shouldn't have eaten this late but I felt quite shakey. Off to bed in a min.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

I managed ti cycle 7 miles today and was 190lbs this morning ... Only 1 lb away from hairdo!
Hi Procrastinator, I too am new, I only joined a few days ago. I weigh myself every day as well, sometimes twice. I do this even when I'm not trying to loose weight - I find it interesting to know how weight fluctuates (or I'm just completely obsessed!) I do a low carb thing myself, but that would be very limiting for a vegetarian.
Hi Lemon Drop glad I'm not the only newbie. Are you going to have a radical new hairdo? Mine needs doing but I keep saving the money then spending it, just worked out last cut August.
I find I am obsessive about weighing but that is working for me, it keeps me on track. Usually I think I am doing OK then when I weigh I have put on or sts for weeks. I really want to achieve a good loss and everyone here seems to do well. I have been lurking for a few weeks but decided it would be good to join in.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Hey peeps
I posted this on another thread, but never recieved any responses  so thought I'd try here.
How do you all manage your recipes, I've copied the odd one or two from this site, and put them into a folder, however I'm so disorganised with it, I can never find the recipe or tips I'm looking for, any advice please?Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
