I woould like to know if BT will let me pay my installation fee by installments because i phoned them twice one person from BT told me the charge of £124.99 will be on my first bill and when i phoned the second time i was told it would be taking from me monthly for 6 months
Why not get the installation done for £29.99 and not worry about installments?

    Conditions apply.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

  • Hello,

Can someone please explain to me which calls are regarded as "chargeable" calls on, say, the Unlimited Plan? Are they mobile calls numbers, or some special prefix numbers, or just ordinary 020 numbers?

I am thinking of taking up this offer, but I need to know about this "little" condition, which surely makes lots of money for BT, otherwise it wouldn't be there.

Does anyone know, is the saving made by the cheaper connection fee cancelled out by this 10 "chargeable" calls a month condition? Any way around it?

Chargeable calls are any calls other then your inclusive landline calls to 01/02/03 Geographical Numbers.

Inclusive calls are exactly what they say on tin.

The reason BT have the clause is to get some return for the cheap connection.

All you need to do is make say 3 Inclusive 01/02/03 geographical calls a week, and your meet the condition.

If your thinking of using a different call supplier for the main bulk of your calls. Have a careful read of this. http://www.calls.bt.com/1280/

Thank you so much, BS, but I still don't understand something....:( If the calls are "inclusive" (I assume inclusive in the monthly price), what difference does it make to BT if I make 10, 20 or 0 of these calls a month? I understand them wanting us to make 10 "chargeable" calls, but aren't "inclusive" calls included in the monthly price?

Sorry, but I really don't get this condition, particulary in regard to these so called "inclusive calls". Very confusing...

Its just a hoop jumping condition.

If you fail to jump all the hoops you lose the discount.

Yes its on until 30 September 2008 [its says that right at the start of the first post :)]
  • I went through to BT sales and they passed me throught to customer service saying they will need to tell me about the offer and they told me that it only applys to customers moving from another supplier not people wanting to set up a brand new account with BT. But I can see from previous posts that people have had brand new line in new property from this offer. What number do I have to ring to get someone who will give this offer to me?

People have posted success on this one: 0800800880

But if you get knocked back explain you are talking about the offer on their notice 25/08, and could you speak to someone who could tell you where in that notice you are not allowed to take out the offer.
