This is my first post and I would like to thank everyone for their advice on the bt £29.99 instalation, my daughter has just moved into a rented house with a phone line and a bt socket but they still wanted £124.99 + vat (robing b*****ds) I mean where else can you go and lets face it they will just flick a switch. The only thing that worries me is the 18 months in this rented house, what happens if she wants to move does she have to pay the other £95.00+.
I have to say bt were very good we left our number and they phoned back and did not argue about the deal, the previous two did not tell us about the deal though!
Thanks agan.

I wanted this deal as a second line. We already have a Virgin line and I wanted to keep it, which proved to be a sticking point. Eventually, I got this deal after calling the 0800 800 880 number 3 times today:
Call 1: System for new bookings was down
Call 2: Agent would not give me the deal after asking if I was already with a cable company. I had replied that I was already with Virgin and didn't want to port my number across to BT. I quoted the 25/08 notice to no avail. Agent would not budge - said they had all been told that for existing Virgin customers the offer was only open if porting.
Call 3: Got put through to Jenna in Customer Options in Glasgow. Said I wanted the £29.99 install deal. Said I didn't have an existing line with another company and didn't have a BT line. Later on she asked how long I had lived at my address (presumably for credit check). I answered 6 years. She didn't query why I had been living in my house for 6 years with no current telephone connection -- I was worried that this would have seemed odd.
She gave me all the restrictions, I said I wanted monthly direct debit and paperless billing, and she said I would be charged £29.99 install, and £10.50 per month + £5.95 for the anytime option I requested. I've got an install booked on 2nd September.

I spoke to general res sales, they put me thro to options, he said as mentioned it was for people already with a line coming back to BT. i told him the previous operator told me about the offer and he said we will honour that . easy peasy. 29.99Div 1 Play Off Winners 2007

Sorry, am I being thick and missing something here? The 10 inclusive calls required to comply with BT's terms is baffling me. I would choose the Anytime option where ALL calls are inclusive. Are they saying I have to call 10 mobiles or premium rates over this period?0
-
Not if you don't want to. You can make the calls out of your inclusive allowance.0
-
Ok......why do they stipulate that? Surely if you're on an inclusive tariff it's irrelevant how many calls you make.0
-
It's just a "jump through the hoops" condition.
If you breach it, it allows them to clawback the discount from you.0 -
Excellent, got this ordered on the 0800 800 880 number. Thank you!0
