3 tomatoes from my garden, a basket of pears from my next door neighbours tree and some grapes (bit sour) from my vine in the garden, a mint tea sachet and a bottle of mineral water from a hotel I stayed in last night (lucky me).[size=-2]Remember its nice to be nice and its good to share!

A friend brought round pizzas and cake when she came to visit - so she stayed for tea! Also managed to pick up 4 apples and a bag of crisps from the remains of bag lunches from a lunch meeting at work... and I wasn't at the meeting.0

Actually got something free which never happens to me.
My mum rang and said my uncle had dropped off a bag of veg from his friends garden and she didnt want it. (The carrots had earth on them, my mum just couldnt face it!) so had a handful of carrots (with earth) 2 onions and some beetroots. Everyone here hates beetroots so I am ashamed to say I put them in the composter (at least its better than the bin) Sorry uncles friend whoever you are! Also mum gave me some delish tomatoes from my aunts garden. To go with my (homemade)fish pie for tea I had some runner beans from the freezer which also came from my uncles garden.0 -
The only thing that's free where I live in North kent is fresh air.
Not a charitable lot in my village at all.
There used to be some old orchards where you could pick up the windfalls ,but the farmer found he got paid more to plough his orchards over and leave it to 'set-aside' Which is I think Eurospeak for don't produce anything and we'll give you some money. What a waste of land .It didn't bother him to let us villigers help themselves to his old apple orchard as he never bothered with it much as there were only about thirty trees. So much for progress. Oh well at least the air is free and untaxed (Yet)0 -
Today in Tesco's I got a pack of 6 crusty rolls for 42p .It was however 45p for a pack of 4 identical rolls so in effect I got two free! Weird pricing!0

Somewhere here there's a recipe for chocolate and beetroot cake. I'm not much keen on beetroot myself - but it makes a lovely cake!
Well... ANY cake with chocolate in it is a good one

Got a carrier bag full of baguette ends, well actually about 7 inches or so off the end of baguettes. Perfect to cut down and use for kids lunch. I know someone whos husband works in a sandwich making factory, and they just cut the middle out of the baguette and discard the ends! How wasteful! The bread was fresh - made in the early hours of this morning. Im really pleased to have the bread but absolutely disgusted to think how wasteful the food industry can be.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I don't think it's the food industry as a whole, places I've worked in have been very economical - after all they are essentially throwing potential profit in the bin which is a double loss, first they paid for it then they threw it away. More likely just the poor attitudes in that company.
Anyway, I forgot to tell you that a got half a dozen free range eggs for free in my last veg box!
I gave the lass who delivers my stuff the recipe for Glad's lemon curd last time and the eggs appeared this time as a thank you. So Glad... HEY GLAD... wanna go halves on these eggs?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
