Hi PP,
I've never made chutney so I've no idea whether or not it's easy to make, but some of these older threads might help you:

A Digby Law recipe:
2kg green tomatoes, chopped
500g onions, finely chopped
250g sultanas
3 tablespoons mustard seeds
1 tablespoon ground allspice
1 tablespoon salt
2.5 cups /22 fl oz white vinegar
500g white sugar
Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan/preserving pan and bring to the boil, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved. Cook very gently, uncovered, for 1.5-2 hours, until the liquid has evaporated and the tomatoes have pulped.
Pour the chutney into hot, clean jars and seal. It is best left for 2 months before using.
About 3.5 litres.
For variation, finely chop from half to all of the sultanas.0 -
