After a tip on here I asked on my local Freecycle group for any unwanted fruit and am now going to raid an apple tree later this week!

last weekend I got 6.5 lbs of brambles, (picked by my own fair hand) they're all sat in the freezer waiting for me to pull together the nerve to make it all into jelly for my hampers!xxx

OH was given a carrier bag of bramley apples from a workmates garden, now turned into apple crumble, stewed apple sultanas and cinnamon for using on cereal/yoghurt, and 5 jars of apple chutney.:D

I know what you mean, I'm planning quince vodka but haven't managed to buy the essential ingredient yet. Unfortunately I only need a couple of quinces for the vodka and I've got about 50:eek:

Our sweet chestnut trees have been cut down. Don't think the old people liked them being collected from the pavements outside the home:(
