sometimes you get a letter stating the date of start of term, and then another saying that the first day will be a teacher training day, so today is officially first day but only for teachers,
my two do a lot for me too, bending to fill washer or dishwasher is a big prob so they do that,
tell your DD that she is wonderful for thinking of you but Daddy doesn't go out to work so that he can be your full time carer so she has no need to worry about youI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. nicki wrote:Why didn't I think of this? I see me getting some fitted sheets (either make them up or have a rumage through a couple of cheap shops... do Asda do smartprice sheets? ) for our new car!
tesco do cherokee cheap fitted sheets - and there's a sale on at the minute. i bought a couple of single bed fitted sheets for DS for £3 each week or so ago0 -
Good morning all - another grey and dismal day here, but very muggy.
Am working all day again today - little one is currently asleep and I thought i'd have 5 mins with a cup of tea! Didn't sleep well last night so feel a bit drained this morning.
Peppers (reduced) stuffed with tomatos and onions for tea with a thick tomato sauce and pasta......well that's the plan anyway. Made a huge quiche last night with orange peppers(think we're going to be having them with every meal this week!!!), bacon and tomatos and hoped to have enough left for lunch today but everyone liked it a little too much and it got finished last night...I suppose I should be pleased it got eaten but it completely threw my lunch box plans out the window!
Desperately need to get some paper work done but it's a 3 hour session and trying to find a spare 3 hours is like trying to find Atlantis in the English Channel......I suppose i'll just have to bite the bullet tonight.
Rightyho - tea's finished so I suppose I should go take advantage of little one's nap and get the washing sorted and put away..the advantage of working from home
Hope you all have a wonderful day.."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning All
Well, Spud is quiet for 5 mins & for once doesn't seem to need feeding so I have cleaned the kitchen & changed the bed, now it's raining & I can't get the washing hung out:rolleyes: Wish I could get the hang of this feeding business, with Moggins help I am slowing improving but boy is it hard! (Big thanks to Moggins:A)
In the last few days I have started to get back into the habit of cooking instead of grabbing something out of the freezer, still seem to be making a lot of unexpected unplanned trips to the shops though so I guess Octobers challange will be to get the budget back on track. Have started to switch from disposables to washable nappies, only using them through the day so far but no major traumas yet apart from Hubby completely unable to get to grips with them:p
Still no news on Hubbys job restructure situation, hopefully by the end of this month we will know if he still has a job or not. Oh, and on Saturday night an uninsured driver hit (and has probably written off) our car:mad:
Despite all this : budget being shot to peices, boobs as painful as an open wound & over charged hormones, unreliable future income & a bu88ered up car I still have this stange conteneted feeeling, am tentiviely hoping that maybe this means motherhood may suit me:o
Hope everyone has a fab day.
PS : Good to see you back Curry queen.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Oh Lillibet can things get any worse for you
Hang in there with that feeding though, you're doing brilliantly.
Well my appointment with the doctors now means the involvement of social services, just hoping this means my son will get the help he needs now rather than them whisking him away from usI've had to make another appointment for me
So next week I have to have a core biopsy on Monday and back to the doctors on Tuesday. Roll on the following week when DD2 starts school, DH has a week off and I might finally be able to relax.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hello Everyone
Second batch of plum jam is now ready for the eat! Got a £1 voucher from Tetley this morning for sending them feedback on the products, so there's a pound ready for the PIN pot!
Been out reporting this morning, so that's 20 miles to claim petrol for.
Hope everyone's as ok as they can beComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Lillibet...when I started breast feeding DS ,I had the same problem. One thing that really helped was a manual breast pump so I could still feed him breast milk but also gave the sore areas a rest. One feed he would get one side and I'd pump the other, next feed the other way around.
This morning I cycled into town to top up DS's telephone as he starts college tomorrow and only mentioned last night that he has no credit on his phone. He makes it last a long time so I topped up to £10.I also got a tube of sting cream as I have a huge bite on my knee.DS trod on a wasp a couple of days ago too,so we are the walking wounded at the moment.
My HDRA organic gardening membership stuff came today. It has a very nice cooks garden planner and a membership card that lets you into the HDRA gardens for free.We have one near us so will go to that quite often(would be about £10 for the 4 of us otherwise). It also gives 10% off the prices in their seed catalogue.
Will get the breadmaker on later as Im doing DS's sandwiches tonight and we've eaten all the bread.Tonights meal will be Bacon and Pineapple Pizza with peppers and mushrooms.0 -
I have just found the most grim discovery in my washing machine. I keep a bucket outside (no lid) with a soda crystal solution in where I throw my "to bleach" cleaning cloths to stop them stinking the house out. When I came to empty it today (to wash the cloths) I found a Crane Fly and half a slug floating in it *insert puking smilie* Figuring a bird had dropped the slug I put on a pair of marigolds and fished out all the cloths and put them into the washing machine on a bleach wash (rinse cycle) then I slung the rest of my dirty cloths in and washed the whole lot. I've just emptied the machine and found the other half of the slug sitting in the bottom of the drum!!!!:eek::eek: I've put the cloths out on the line and the washing machine is now on an extra rinse as I'm not prepared to put clothing in there after a dead slug has been in there without washing it all out first *shudder*
Question for you all regarding wildlife... Next doors garden and house are a disgrace (two weeks ago the police broke in because no-one had seen the bloke for a couple of days and there was a large number of flies in the window. He was out at work thankfully but even the policemen were close to being sick when they came out. I overheard one saying even Kim and Aggie wouldn't tackle that house!) and my garden, which is on the sunny side of his (he has a huge sycamore & another tree that are both taller than our house!) is overrun so to speak with flies - do you think they're from his house and are in my garden because its so warm and sunny? Its getting to be really annoying as when I come to hang washing out they're buzzing around all over the place. I bought a table so we could eat out there (we already had the chairs) but the past month or so there are so many flies I can't bare to even sit out there. I can cope with the kitchen door open but only because they don't seem to come near it and when they do come in the house they tend to fly back out quite quickly or get stuck on my fly tapes. Any advice on how to get rid of them? They seem to have taken a liking for DD's sunflowers but just to sit on :mad:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
