Don't know why the flies might be there beyond maybe he's harbouring rubbish/waste in his house, but when I had a similar problem with my former neighbours I got onto environmental health & they dealt with the neighbours & insisted it was sorted.

Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!
  • You could try spraying his tree with some insect killer when he is out, or haning fly papers all around the tree (may have some friendly casualties there though....) can't you get the environmental health dept on to it? Is your house attached to his? We have a problem next door (overgrown - badly) and next-door but one (other side) she keeps putting food out and we keep seeing rats in the garden (she is a bit batty). we even had "eau d'rodent mort" a few months ago and I've had the rat men out a couple of times.

tonight we will be having the second chicken dinner this week (I made double last night and put it in the fridge) even though it is sweltering......... i like my chicken dinners.

i am also drinking water like mad as I am going to have an ultrasound scan of my pelvis this p.m. - the GP referred me in June so 3 months later is about right :rotfl:

by the way everyone, i have another budgie !!! Derek now has a friend called Bobby who was about to be made homeless (owner little old lady who had died and family couldn't keep as had cats and person looking after him was about to go on holiday). Played the emotional card with OH to get him and now Derek insists on sleeping in Bobby's house!!!!!! I am hoping to get them to both be in Derek's house as it is the bigger cage and after all they only use it for sleeping and eating as they are out all the time.

right, i'm off to look for a recipe for beetroot crumble. tomorrow's tea is savoury mince stuffed marrow but i am thinking about making a savoury crumble for the weekend........... well, the produce is getting to be it's cheapest ..............
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Enviromental health have already been out the same day as the police as they were called out but then they called the police out. A couple of days later a notice from what I assume was the council (it had a liverbird and purple header so that generally means council!) was posted on his door but as I was out with OH at his work I missed it being posted and by the time we had got in the house, got changed, checked when the pub stopped serving food and left again the notice was gone so I didn't get a chance to have a nosey  I must say that there is some slight progress I think, the bin bag he put out for the binmen on Friday (we have wheelie bins and are supposed to only use them but his isn't there - probably the one in the alleyway thats now a pile of purple plastic!) was alot fuller than usual, but still only one bag  I really hope that the environmental health are going to do something about it when he opens his door the smell is awful!

I'm off work today becuse I've been feeling yucky, went out for a meal for sisters b.day last night and I could only eat 3 mouthfuls I felt so bad and went to bed at 9pm! I'm starting to feel a bit better now though.

Due to feeling poorly haven't done much OS. Tonight will be making Quorn burgers for dinner- have loads of rolls in the freezer that were intended for BBQs but I doubt we will be having many more this year.

I sorted through our rubbish to put as much of the recyclable stuff in the blue bin as possible. I was so happy when the council gave us a blue bin for nearly all recyclable stuff, and while it does mean a bit more effort sorting through stuff and rinsing it out I get a feeling of satisfaction from it. I read that countries like Japan and Germany recycle about 40% of their household waste and I'm sure we manage at least that amount too.

Ordered our Turkish lira on the Post office website and will collect it on Saturday. We are flying out new Friday and can't wait! We have been working full time plus most of the past 2 weekends doing promotion for my business so need a break.

Lillibet- so sorry to hear about your car, uninsured drivers make me so mad, I think there should be harsher punishments for them. Well done for keeping your spirits up and persisting with it all, I bet you're making a great mum!

Have a good day all, sarah.

  • Hey

This reminds me of something my DD did 2 years ago.

We had just bought a puppy and she had secretly been feeding him food in her room  There was an awful smell coming from her room, so we cleared it out one day whilst she was at school and in her wardrobe there was a pile of her winter clothes (it was hot summer months) and as we moved them out the smell just hit us...it was disgusting. There was a bowl of manky dog food with a ton of maggots in it....rank  Obviously been there a while :o and with the added heat....gross!!

She was banned from feeding him and still is..lol.

Anyway, me & dd have had a good day so far. Watched a couple of episodes of Lost and have been blaring out Gwen Stefanis new album :o Had burgers for lunch and wll be having toad in hole with roast potatoes at DD's request :D

    Love to all

Not a very old style day - saw youngest daughter off to Grammar school and made everybody pancakes to mark the occassion.

Went into York to get a half price printer for daughter who is a student.

She has just told me as as she had 15 lectures a week and had to pay for printouts for each one - that it was costing her about 12 - 14 pounds a week.

By having her own printer- that should pay for itself in two weeks!

    Probably salad for tea.
    Washing machine is whirring away.

Im supposed to be at my pschotherapy group at 1.30, havent been for 2 months  Im going to try and make it there as it does help. Have been attending for past 2 years and it has made a difference. I can feel my mental health going downhill again and dont want it to get any worse, so need to nip in bud now and get it under control

Lunch will be cod in breadcrumbs, mash and veg. Dinner will be HM Spagbol.

    Never posted this early before!
Second day back at school. Oldest DD at secondary school now. Doing her lunch as we speak.
Got to take the other 3 to school, walk the dog. Come home and strip children's beds. Tesco man is coming later this morning. Will then bake flapjack and brownies.
Fish pie and sweetcorn for dinner tonight.
Should really tidy house as well but I feel the need to lie down just looking at my list!!!
Hope everyone has a good day

    :hello: Morning all :hello:

Well, I'm up AND I'm dressed. Amazing! However, I do have to leave shortly to get to the interview for the supply agency......................... I'm a bit nervous, but hopefully this will build up my confidence and on the way to getting me a bit of money and a full time job?

I e-mailed the manager at the beetroot factory (no laughing you lot!) where I worked as a manager when I first left uni the first time, to see if they had any jobs going for a couple of weeks. I haven't heard back yet, so I might be brave and give her a ring later. It would only be until we move in 2.5 weeks (woooohoooo :D), but it would give me a bit of cash. We'll see........

We picked up some friends last night from the airport as they're moving back from Spain for good. They're so pleased to be back in England, especially as where they were living was full of English retired people and they've just had a baby - so nothing around there for them! It was only going to be for a couple of years for the husband's job anyway, but it's good to have them back. :)

I was weighed yesterday when I went to the docs and I was in mortal shock/distress. So, tonight we're going to be having a salad nicoise - or our take on it, anyway!

    See you folks later.
