Internet Telecom is no more!

"BT is not currently connecting with the company that provides this service, BT has not charged you for this call"
That's the message that is now being played when you try to dial out through IT, so it has changed slightly. The use of the word "currently" seems to imply that at some point maybe they will? Does anyone have any more info, not been able to find out anything from anyone so far!0 -
Have just spoken to someone at BT this morning and did not really get a definite answer. They said that they know that there was a phone company recently that went bust but the person I spoke to was not certain whether this was ITPLC or not and that other IT customers have also phoned BT with the same enquiry.0

There is now a flash message appearing on the website of IT PLC which partly says-
"Please be advised that Internet Telecommunications PLC was placed into Administration on 17 April 2008"
So it now means abandon ship!0 -
Anyone decided yet where they are going to go next?0

If you carry on as you are and do nothing you will still be billed through IT for the use of the BT service for as long as it lasts. 1280 still works at present but in the next few weeks a final bill will be sent to you by IT administrators (Info from the IT PLC website) and it is likely that your line will be disconnected! If you wait this long to change to another provider it could also have an effect on any broadband connection that you have as if there is no active phone line then your broadband may also be disconnected.
Best advise would be to change to another provider ASAP as IT PLC are no more! I have already signed up to go with Toucan and would be interested to hear about any others you guys may have decided on?0 -

So do you have information to back up this statement?billsavings wrote: »Cheap is not always best.
No cheap is not always the best, but if like me you are only seeking a land line just for the cheapest line rental going and just to have Broadband then that's all I want. If it wasn't for the fact that you have to have a land line in order to have Broadband then I would do away with that altogether. I do not make many calls on my land line at all as I use the contract minutes on my mobile.
I am not committed to make any calls with Toucan and can easily just use the likes of 1899, 18185 or 18866 to make calls if I need to, so £8.99 a month for line rental is good for me. I much preferred IT plus who I was with at just £5.25 a month, but now that they are no more no other provider comes even close to those sort of prices AFAIK!!0
