Just to let you know you can pay BT £1.50 per month to keep your e-mail address - you can actually have up to 5 e-mail addresses for the £1.50 per month. We were on BT for years and didn't want to change e-mail addresses when we finally got a new ISP and this option was a great problem solver for us.0

What a rip-off, could only happen in Rip-Off-Britain!
Or as already stated in post #4, simply connect once every couple of months using dial-up. (I believe that the limit is 90 days)
Why do people use ISP provided e-mail accounts? Use one of the many ISP independent e-mail accounts and this is never a problem when changing your ISP. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Just wondered if anyone has any experience of Sky Broadband, was thinking of changing mine. Comments would be greatfully received.
Thanks0 -
yea they are excellent and free (that is if you don't download much)0

My 16mb service went live last week. It is excellent. I get 13.5mb download and 650kbs upload rate at speedtest.net0

Until you have to deal with their c/s...I was a great fan until it all went wrong,I am with O2 now and the difference in service is unbelievable,O2 solved my problem within 24 hours on their freephone number,Sky had me buy new microfilters...which was wrong.Turned out to be an external line fault,if sky had spotted it I would still be with them.....I would love some decent telly on a Saturday night0

Im with sky,i also had a line fault which was sorted over the weekend and now i have great bb connection.
The thing is with sky is that if you have a problem with your bb they are not so bothered if they lose your custom as they dont make much profit if any on the bb.
But sky talk and sky tv they want to keep your custom and will do anything to keep it,thats why my phone line was fixed within 48 hours as i am with sky talk too.
But now i have a brilliant conection and all problems have been sorted.
I have the mid, £5 a month and is loads better than aol.0 -
