    I have been trying to switch to Sky since the end of April and it has been a lot of hassle. My order has been cancelled or changed umpteen times and they keep asking me to phone them. I have tried dealing with them by email but all they do is ask me to contact them by phone .. even after I explained I could not dial an 0844 number from work.

    Anyhoos, I have persevered and basically, given the hassle they have waived most of the set up charges and a couple of other sweetners. I have heard the service is good and hope that once I get set up that will be the end of my problems.

    I am leaving Pipex for no other reason than Sky is free for me ... I had excellent service and connection from Pipex over the last 3 (or so) years

    I am currently on the MAX package, which is the *UNLIMITED (subject to FUP) up to16mb, and the connection is very good.
    For £10,I find that the price is reasonable

    Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 23 payments until DEBT FREE - February 2027

    If my experience with Sky is anything to go by, I would steer well clear. Everything's fine until something goes wrong and you have to call their customer services. Absolute nightmare. I don't deny that the packages are great but if you value your sanity, either pray that nothing ever goes wrong with your service or just save yourself the bother and find someone else.

    I took Sky BB mid package at beginning of this month. Wish I didn't take Sky.
    • Very frequent disconnection
    • Slow speed [when I get connection]
    • Sometimes I don't get connection at all over hours
    • Once I didn't have connection for 2 days!
    • Customer service put me on hold [for level 2 support] twice for 30 minutes and after that they hung up
    • One problem's solution gives rise to another problem
    • Everyday I'm fighting with their 0844 customer service number
    • They are not allowing me to leave bringing up 1-yr contract issue :(
    In a nutshell, Sky broadband is total crap for me. Their customer service is the worst I've seen.
    Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

    Try putting your stats up on skyuser, it may be that there is an underlying issue causing the problem.

    Same As. Was with Tiscali and moved to Zen after much research. Then moved to sky for 3 in 1 package. Am on their max. Constantly looses connection and is slower than Tiscali. Wish I'd stayed with Zen. It was worth the high monthly payment to have a reliable fast connection all the time.

    I have switched to SKY broadband from Demon a few months back, and touch wood, so far I am really happy. Where Demon could only ever offer me a 1.3MB download connection, SKY has already beaten this by going to just under 7MB download. This on the same line, and £10 cheaper per month..
    Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.
