Oasis airline in liquidation- what to do?

Debit cards are not protected by law, however if you paid by visa debit card or visa electron, you can phone your card issuer and ask them to perform a "visa chargeback". Visa provide this service to all card holders and will make a full refund in this situation.
Isn't that what I said ?0 -
I understand everyone has there own issue to get resolved with Oasis, so thanks for taking the time to look at this.
Me and my partner have hotel accommodation (in Hong Kong) booked through Opodo for mid June.
Non refundable hotel bookings are not fraudulent. hence the cheap rate they offer you. check closely your TC,
Any losses you suffer as a result of a breach of contract by oasis/cc you can claim for compensation from your cc company. so do it at the same time as your oasis claim.
if they give you some lame excuses, ask the ombudsman to arbitrate for you v.v. the cc company.0 -

yes, agreed but maestro and switch debit card holders cant ask for a chargeback. unlucky for them.0 -
having looked long and hard for the cheapest flights, i found that if i booked with ba a single out to HK and then another single back, rather than a straight forward return, it saved me (or the bank) £164.00
OK, one might say it doesnt matter if the bank is paying, but at least in the short term it makes you feel better to get the best deal possible. And if you think there is a chance that you wont get your money back or additional costs, it could be worth a look.0 -
Lloyds have refunded me all the Oasis tickets cost.. all £804 !! :j
I had issues when initially speaking to them. They never heard of chargeback until i told them its on their website. Then they pointed me to Debit Card Services.
I faxed off my documents, covering letter, bank statements, oasis receipt, oasis liquidation notice on the 17th, and checking my statement today, i see the refund has been made to my account on the 21st.
Very happy indeed. Make sure you keep chasing the banks!!!

Hi midastouch1,
Glad to hear your good news.
Please can you post here the fax, telephone numbers and contact name and/or dept that your corresponded with to get your refund. That would be helpful to a number of people here who also paid by Lloyds Visa Debit card (myself included)
Thanks.0 -

Excellent, congratulations!
Did you just claim for the original amount that you paid to Oasis, or did you claim extra for any replacement tickets that you had to purchase as a result?0 -
I've just called Morgan Stanley and they have asked me to contact the liquidators for a "negative bonding" letter before they will process the claim. If I don't have this letter, it would take their s.75 dept 'a while' to process. Does anyone know how I go about getting this negative bonding letter? I cannot seem to find a number for the KPMG liquidators.
Thanks
This is rubbish ! They do not require this - tell them that.
They tried that with me, after I said it was not required they paid up !0 -
I give up.
Sick to death of getting fobbed off by halifax telling me to contact the liquidators.
Halifax about as much use as a chocolate fireguard0
