  • Morning all! Had a very OS night last night - made 2 chicken and veg pies with the breasts off one of the chickens I bought at the weekend and some rubbery looking carrots and peas. Also picked the redst of the 2 whole chickens clean and now have many bags of cooked chicken bits in the freezer, as well as 3 whole caracusses (sp?) ready for me to do stock or soup when the mood takes.

After such a cooking night last night, having leftover spag bol sauce from the freezer tonight - OH wants his with chiups and not spag so I will take the opportunity to have brown rice as I NEVER get to eat it!

OH and I are pretty down about money at the mo - had a very rough few months with overdue payments and charges, but should pick up after 15th wen I am paid. The problem is OH isnt a very good budgeter and he would rather not tell me if he has to take money out and let me find out on my own - I thought we had been identiy thefted £300 on saturday when he withdrew the money! I am pretty sure he is putting money away for my engagement ring but I need to konw what money is coming out. He is very down about the fact that we are scrimping and saving at the mo, but it doesnt bother me too much. Anyway, should be better from 15th and things really pick up again next month - fingers crossed!!!

Also got some scotch bonnets, medium chilli peppers, papaya & lime and passion fruit packs for 10p each. Will come in handy for daughter's exotic fruit & veg school project!

    Morning everyone,

I was wondering what on earth are scotch bonnets? I have never heard of them. What am I missing out on?

I am off sick today. Not life-threatening, but I have virtual tonsillitis. I had my tonsils out 5 years ago (not pleasant when you are 33!) but today my throat is killing me and i feel generally achy and tired. Will no doubt go back to bed later.

If I feel better later I will spruce up my old car which I am trying to sell but I may just laze about reading magazines my mum passes on to me. That is my OS contribution for the day.

Would it be worth setting up a magazine swap I wonder? I don't know how much it costs to post them, but some are so expensive that it may be worth it... Hmmmm... brain too tired to think clearly about this...

Have a good OS day everyone.

Hi Somerset Princess, sorry you are feeling down at the moment. The trouble with money is that when you don't have any it dominates everything that you do doesn't it? Good that you are keeping an eye on your situation though. I'm sure things will pick up for you. Stay positive about it and keep an eye on MSE!! :money:

    Take care,

    Sue

Scotch Bonnets are very hot chilli's that grow well as house plants here in the UK :)

How do you know everything? I never cease to be amazed by your almost instantaneous responses to obscure questions! I bet you are great to have on a pub quiz team!

Morning all.....My cold is still in full force - felt really fluey last night all achy and sore.....woke up in a cold sweat at 3.30am after a really strange dream about my mothers cat stealing my flip flops.... ....

Decided I wasn't up to working today - not fair to pass the germs around anyway....had a bit of a lie in and thought i'd better get up and get some washing out in the sunshine, typically as soon as it was hung it's started spitting - I'm being optimistic tho and going to leave it for a bit.

DD's are currently washing and sorting loads of shells we got a few weeks back, not really sure what we're going to do with them now tho....I'm hoping inspiration will strike.

Need to go delve in the freezer and see what delights I can russle up for tea tonight, last night I did a quick spinach and spicy cheese quiche - was lovely I was told - couldn't actually taste it myself.

Got a pile of paperwork to do - lots of little sewing jobs to catch up on and ten ton of stuff to go on ebay.........if only I were'nt feeling quite so naff!

Anyway - hope you all have a good one
