Good luck hot boyf of Jo!!!
Had a OS day today, pottered about in my herbgarden, cleaned the whole house as estate agent came for inspection, washed hair with homemade mask. Then saw doctor and he says I have to take a month of work  How to tell the man that I won't bring in any money for a month???? Worries worries.... I shall go and make an apple crumbleThree years, six months, three weeks, 13 hours, 48 minutes and 30 seconds. 26011 cigarettes not smoked, saving $11,704.80. Good morning all,
Had to pay out for car tax yesterday (had forgotton all about it  ) so now broker than a real brokery broke thing.
Good news is that I don't need to shop this week - got a load of stuff in and just need to get off my backside and make the effort.
Off out for the day with a friend and her kids, free day out at a local country park, no where to actually spend money even if I had any!
Got to pay out for train fares to London on thrusday tho, as little one goes for her first visit to Great Ormonde Street Hospital....scary stuff.
DH is off on Friday and has promised to do all those annoying little jobs in the morning, the recycling bins need emptying and washing out, the garden needs a good going over, there's a ton of stuff that needs putting in the loft and he's going to be good and sort out all his books to see what I can list for amazon or shove in the boot fair box. Will leave the weekend free and clear then for a day out somewhere, will be an English Heritage freebie visit somewhere.
Will need to check the recipe boards later too - P-I-L gave DD's about half a ton of marshmellows at the weekend, they're not over keen on them, I don't eat them so need to think of something I can do with them that will disguise them. Any ideas?????

Morning All
Good Luck OH of Jo.
Im still on the job hunt so thats my focus of the day, oh and do some work too. Didnt get anything on my OS list i made yesterday done, I sat and made a wig for a customer who then decided to tell me she couldnt pay for 2-3 weeks... there goes my profits. Decided to sell on ebay and make her a replica when she can afford to pay as i dont run a charity.
MUST do some housework tonight!! and buy a pop up laundry basket. Also, must nip to asda and buy some bread for packed lunch as my loaf has gone a bit green as it hasnt been touched since i bought it as OH decided he didnt like bread at the weekend, men are so fickle, as he tucked into a sausage sarnie, made with ciabatta, as its not "bread". i think he means he doesnt like sliced bread :confused
Must grab some veg today in asda too so i am stocked up ready to make a slow cooker casserole for OH when we get back from the airport on friday, his plane isnt landing till about 6-7ish and i promised i'd be there to meet him as i didnt see him off.
Should go get some work done... will report back later0 -
Good morning all, sorry for the prolonged absence. OH and I were both off work "sick" yesterday - fancied a lie in together he he! Made a delicious lamb roast dinner on Sunday for OH's dad and "lady friend", followed by rhubarb crumble (of which OH's dad had 3 portions!!!). Made homemade chicken nuggets yesterday from the 4 chicken breasts I defrosted prior to buying 3 whole chickens at the market!
Planning on making a chicken and veg pie and a chicken crumble (from the indexed recipes) tonight - will freeze the pie and have the crumble for tea with veg.
Ever so pleased - lost 4 lb on weight watchers last week, now under 10 stone for the first time in ages and officially the right weight range for my height - not overweight any mroe - woohoo!!!Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
Morning
Pooky - could you use the marshmallows up by making a chocolate/biscuit/marshmallow traybake thingy - I'm afraid I haven't got a recipe, just seen it sold in tea shops at vast expense. Could go in their lunchboxes or be an afternoon treat with juice?
Good luck to everyone who has interview and/or looking for new jobs.
I was good last night and made sausage pasta for dinner, but with enough leftovers for this evening as well. At the same time I made up spag bol for the lasagne I'm feeding my friend with on Wednesday evening. Later on I also made a banana loaf with vastly reduced bananas I bought in the greengrocers.
I have totally converted to my local greengrocer - he's open until 6pm so I can nip in on my way home from work and as a really good seasonal selection as well as being friendly. Much better than tesco's and so much cheaper. You can also buy veg loose, so there is no chance of waste - like with prepackaged veg. Very handy for a singleton!
Right - got enough food to see me through until the weekend. Very impressed with my efforts this week, so far!!!!
:hello:r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
MOrning all! We're off to the seaside today - sunny Skegness, I think! DH has just made up a picnic, so when dd is up from her morning nap, I'll feed her and then we're going. We've been promising ds a trip to the seaside (although he's frightened of sand he still wants to go) for ages, so it'll be nice to see him running about on the sand!
Homemade pizza for tea tonight - using another recipe from the cheap breadmaker book I bought. Yesterday was crusty bread, and we've finished it off making today's sandwiches. Tomorrow I'm making sunny orange bread (sounds fab even if it tastes vile)
Good luck OH of Jo and also ancasta, and congrats :T on hitting goal weight Somersetprincess. I got to mine about six weeks ago and seem able to stay there without too much effort - it's nice to be a size 12 after being a 16/18 and having babies - although I don't have a very big wardrobe and i can't afford a lot of cash to refill.
Pooky - what about putting them in cookies/muffins? or even into a flapjack? i love marshmallows - you could always mail them here
Must go optimistically dig out suncream ...Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -
im bullying people into giving me stuff to sell at a carboot fair on sunday, i have masses of kids toys, books, videos and games that need selling, and some of my old clothes.
Hopefully this will build up my savings account im opening at the weekend. Im going to put all the profits from my hairdressing in there too, minus the costs to make new stuff.0 -
Morning All
Still pregnant (you're going to hear this daily now until Spud arrives....sigh:rolleyes:)
Have made a chicken & veg pie with the last of the leftover chicken and taken myself for a haf mile waddle to Tescos & back & got some good reduced stiuff for the freezer so we aren't going to starve & plus I got some positive pre-labour exercise:D Catznine, I know you were a bit concerend yesterday that I was doing too much, I promise you I'm only doing things I feel like doing & I feel really really OK (and I'm, running out of DVD's to watch:eek:), plus I love cooking (epecially when I'm stressed or distressed, does anyone else find this?) Wouldn't mind a high stool so that I could sit at the kitchen counter though, the legs are starting to feel the strain of carrying an extra 2 stone now:rotfl:
Laundry is on, am finding myself washing things which don't really need washing but I want them to be as clean as poss when Spud arrives as I don't expect to have time to keep on top of things like that for a while:p Today it's the turn of our Indian bedspreads! I guess this is all part of nesting.
Good luck to Jo's OH & to Ancaster for Sundays car boot (hopefully I'll be otherwise occupied by then!), enjoy your day at the seaside Fairylights (I'm not at all jealous. No really, I'm not.........) Pooky, good luck for DD on Thursday, hope all goes well, which country park are you at today? Hubby works at Bedfont Lakes country park, if you're there ask for Adam & tell him I said he is to give you a guided tour!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
