Morning all!
Posting later than usual but I have had a very productive morning - honest! Got a day off work today and having soooo much fun.
So far:
2 washloads done and on the line
Car washed
Yesterday's chicken boiled up and made into soup
Garden cleared and rubbish taken to tip and recycling
I am about to head off to my sisters for the afternoon, but not until I have cleared the ironing pile.
This is much better than going to work....0 -
Bread made overnight, out to do a gardening job for 2 hours, washing done and out on the line, cleaned the garden chairs, sorted out some of the stuff for the caravan ready for our holiday, lunch.............just watching the news on TV...... need to recharge battereis after having our Grand children in the caravan for the weekend, took them to a local steam fair..... sooner have them for a week than a fortnight, nothing left in the pantry but a delivery due from Tesco tomorrow, should survive till them, the remains of yesterdays turkey joint for dinner tonight, fricasse I think.

afternoon all - I'm exhausted today.. obviously it's the day for it.
My poor cat died in his sleep yesterday - he was 18 and we've had him since I was 11. Luckily I was back at my Parent's this weekend so I got a chance to say goodbye to my wee man. He was very old and very ill, and it was a blessed release for him really (and meant he wasn't off to the Vets today for them to make "that" decision) but it was still very sad. He looked very peaceful though, lying in his basket with his head on his paws.
No O/S for me then today, I've been really quite upset and not up for very much more than mooching at work. It's very nice to catch up with everyone's news though and I'm looking forward to our meet very much.
Onwards and upwards I suppose, baking tommorrow am before work I think.Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -

Full on summer head cold has meant that today will be mostly spent doing............................nothing!! Feel really quite grotty, good job i'm not working today. DD's have been great tho - gave them a pile of magazines (freebies from the papers) and a couple of glue sticks and they've made an egyptian collage. They've even cleared up after themselves!!!
Will pop a dvd on for them later (freebie rental trial) and make them some popcorn and take advantage of the peace and quiet to try and get some paperwork done.
Toad in the hole planned for tea - DD's want to cook it - so i'll just tell them the timings and help them in and out the oven with stuff (don't you love it when they get old enough to do these things)
Rally do need to crack on with house work - busy week, out all day tomorrow, working all day wednesday, DD2 off to great ormonde street on thursday so we'll pop into the British museum while we're there and carry on the egypt theme of the week, DH is off on Friday and I'm working so if it doesn't get done today...........it will still be there next week

morning
*hugs* green logo. I feel sad for you.
in fact *hugs* to everyone this morning - I'm feeling in a friendly mood
Not got huge OS plans for today. Just the normal packed lunch and not buying things I don't need! I'm currently organising a Charity Bingo night, which takes place this Thursday. It's all to go towards raising money for my Peru trip - if have been putting my OS skills to good use with the catering and getting the best deal on wine etc. So far so good - please keep those fingers crossed.
I'm in the same boat as you catznine and moggins. I have given up my nice salary to be a full time student again and suddenly the financial situation has hit me - HARD! Currently searching for a part time job and when I get my laptop will start ebaying frantically. I'm sure that we'll manage though - with each others support.
Have a good day and enjoy the sunshine.
r.mac :wave:r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
(((GreenLogo))) I know just how you feel, my cat died 6 weeks ago & I was VERy upset, still get teary thinking about him. I'll be thinking of you.
Well, due date is here & no sign of Spud arriving yet:rolleyes:. I wouldn't mind if I could just turn over in bed, I really miss freedom of movement!
Had a OS morning making crumbles & fruit tarts etc just in case he pops out & we need to feed loads of visitors, we went plum picking yesterday so loads of free fruit that needed using up:D. Also made flap jacks & a couple of pastry cases so that I can make flans with leftover roast chicken after tonights dinner. After last weeks supermarket secrets programme I have been converted to organic freedom meat so will really need to s-t-r-e-t-c-h that chicken to get every last penny's worth out of it! By the way, does anyone know if I can get organic freedom bacon in any main supermarkets? (I don't want to have to go down deliverty boxes/farm shop routes, so far butchers haven't been able to help but I am still investigating) I ended up buying Duchy orginial brand as it was the nearest I could find but I think I am just paying for the name, although it is very nice & not at all salty.
Went to a car boot yesterday morning & stomped around in the mud, found a bargain brand new baby grow bag for £2 plus a few other bits & peices for Spud & the nursery, plus Hubby found a video of The Herbs (1980's childrens cartoon if you're too young to remember it) for 50p so he is VERY happy watching that & reliving his childhood:rolleyes::p:rotfl:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
im heart broken i cant find a cheap pop up washing basket on the high street. There was a surge of them a few months ago where everywhere had them but i cant find any now at a reasonable price. i know Au Naturale had them in for £4 but i cant get to that shop till the weekend and means i will have to carry my laundry in bin bags.
tut!
Any help?!0 -
Hello all,
So sorry to hear about your cat Greenlogo, and also your poorly cat too Prudent, hope the news is not as bad as you think.
Lillibet, I cant believe you are so active cooking things etc when you are about to pop! (I was the same too, the more I needed to sit down and rest, the more I wanted to be up and about doing things!) I hope it all goes well for you.
My PIL have collected my DD's and taken them out, they wont be back until bed-time. Ive got so many jobs waiting to be done that Im in danger of doing nothing, I dont know where to start! I think the trick is just starting, anywhere, rather than thinking about it.
Im going to tackle the breadmaker again (long story) tidy DDs rooms and change beds, sort out mammoth washing pile, cook roast chicken for me and OH for tea and hopefully make something nice and crumbly for afters, then tackle my big sewing pile (name tapes etc) which is calling me from the corner.
Have a nice day all.0
