'Morning everyone :hello:
Gosh, you are all eager beavers this morning! Sorry to hear that some you have had a painful night ... group hug for everyone to make you feel better :grouphug:
Today I'm going to the farmers market for my meat. Used the last of the meat in the freezer yesterday so it has worked out just right. I'm planning to try and get 2 weeks worth of meat, along with some vegetables for this week. The lamb has been gorgeous but I'm hoping to be a bit more adventurous with my buying today and try some of the other stalls (I tend to stick to the same butcher) as well as my regular one.
Cooking our meals from scratch is really helping to cut down our food budget. I used to spend between £100 - £120 a week (what on earth was I buying!) and now the average is down to around £50. The thing is we are eating so much better. I made a cottage pie yesterday from the last of left over cooked lamb ... absolutely delicious! It would take too long to prepare in the evenings after work but it is a definately a weekend meal for us now.
Last night youngest (vegeatarian) daughter said she would be happy to have more of my scratch made meals (as opposed to buying so much Quorn) .... but gave me a list of ingredients she didn't like which happen to be staples of our diet (OH and myself). Think I will need to be a bit creative  A bit of challenge, but it would get our food bill down even further because the Quorn tends to add quite a bit to our food bill.
Well must have breakfast ....
Have a lovely OS day folks!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Good morning! I thought I was doing well being up this early on a Saturday but I feel like a right slacker after reading everyone else's posts!!
I did a freezer inventory last night and have enough food for the next week so no food shopping today. Am planning to blitz the house all day, some serious decluttering is in order. Made a start last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself (how sad is that).
Tomato risotto for lunch today, with HM chicken soup for tea.
Have a lovely day everyone.0 -
Morning to everyone,
Its been a while since I last got round to posting so I thought I'd say hi. I am nursing a very welcomed cup of tea, as my 2 year old son decided to wake hubbie and me up on the hour, every hour last night. I've put my babysitter on (Noddy) for a few minutes peace, so I can have a look online.
Hope you all have a good saturday.A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
:grouphug: Morning everyone. I hope everyone feels better.
Today I'm finishing getting stuff together for car boot tom and doing a meal plan for the next four weeks, (trying to stay within grocery budget challenge).
Changing all the beds and finishing off the spring cleaning!! A bit late
Back to work Monday

Later I have a wedding to go to, this morning though I want to pop to Tescos to get a few bits in, I have a load of washing on, I need to go to the library to pick up a reservation, clean the house (at least hoover everywhere and clean the bathroom).
Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling ill at the mo for various reasons, they sound like complicated long-term problems so I'll just say I hope they get sorted or become more bearable soon for you. ((hugs)) to those of you affected, I know how bad health problems can make you feel from after I had my op a month or so ago and I'm filled with admiration for people who determinedly struggle on and try to lead normal, productive lives despite the pain.
Have a good day, sarahYesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
Hope that you're all feeling ok at the top of this thread.
OH and I are just on our way out to the local farmers' market. We haven't been for a while as we were on holiday the last couple of times it was on. We'll probably get a naughty pastry for our lunch, then tea tonight is salad with chopped up organic sausages and egg. Mmmmmmmmmm, yum, yum.
A friend phoned me last night that I hadn't spoken to in a while and she was absolutely appalled that I hadn't told her about my lack of job. Her OH had gone through some fantastic agency to get a permanent teaching job, so they're going to be recommending me to the agency. Bless them. As luck would have it, they're also taking OH and I out for lunch tomorrow!
Anyway, sounds like OH is ready to go so I'd better get ready quick-smart!
