urgh.. i have a day of hell infront of me.. :(

Gotta go the estate agents now to give over my previous employment history etc, that i didnt have on me yesterday when i signed my application.

Then i have to go on a 2nd hand hunt for furniture for my house! Because i move in (hopefully) in 11 days and currently only own a single bed, small sideboard, bookcase thing and am being given a dining table and chairs. :o

I need to at least sort a sofa, Fridge/Freezer (may have got this sorted) and a Free standing cooker. They are the essentials.. was hoping for a double bed too.. but thats gonna be a luxury item not essential. I can see me rattling round in this house for months  :rotfl:

So im spending the day trekking the second hand shops, discount stores and might even visit the local flea market. which might sound fun but the weather is lousy..

Then tonight im back in work early on a few hours extra overtime.. so gonna be soooo tired. But ah well.. needs must!

johanne, join your local Freecycle group, you will be amazed at what is offered. I am just about to put up a tall bookcase that I can't take to the car boot sale, lol.
  • Morning all!

Well, the bread's in the machine, so it's going to be a late lunch in our house ... I need to do some cleaning this morning but I'm having a slow morning. Ds is still in her cot having a LONG nap today after a busy nap-free day yesterday. Dd is watching Balamory (hooray for cbeebies on bbc2!). Might clean the windows.

We had some ecover vouchers through the post this morning, so tomorrow's shop should be a bit cheaper than usual.

I did a big summer fair yesterday and there was LOTs of people asking about having parties (I sell Usborne books at parties) for the next few months, so hopefully that should make me some extra cash in too. Plan is my earnings will pay off the debts if we can stick to our budgets using DH's wages to live on. We had beef and beer casserole from the slow cooker (its christening meal) last night. I put it on before I went out at 8am and we ate at 7pm. It was BEAUTIFUL and I made double and froze half. I'm so impressed! Also, putting it all on to cook after I'd eaten breakfast stopped me from picking at the veg - which I always do when I cook in the evenings!

Johanne - have you tried your local freecycle? They always have that stuff on ours ...

I need to get my bum in gear and take my application in to Makro. I filled it all in, but I'm not sure a trip to Makro would work with two kids in tow ...

We're having pizza for tea tonight. can I freeze pizza dough if I make up a double batch? And at what point do I freeze it? straight out of the machine or once it's proved?

Right ... windows are calling .... :rotfl:

Johanne - 425 for a rental in Liverpool? Yikes!!! Would you not be better off getting a mortgage? House prices here are gonna go up as we near 2008...

Yeah people keep saying but i looked into it and with my current salary and situation i would only be able to get £45k-ish and that will go no-where. One of my friends just got told he can get a 68K mortgage on his salary which is higher than mine and he cant find anywhere - even in garston/speke etc where he lives at the mo. The house prices are just sooo high. The houses in the street im going to that are currently up for sale are 85k+

I didnt think the £425 was so bad as its a really nice house to a high standard, two double bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, brand new bathroom small yard and its in a really quiet little street and in actual view of my workplace (what a view from your bedroom window eh! :rotfl: )

Wouldnt be so bad if i wasnt living on my own... but cant find anyone id wanna live with just yet.

Yes you can freeze it, straight out of the machine is best.

    Hi everyone.
A bit more OS in our house today than yesterday, as we went to the cinema followed by dinner at kfc (treat for ys)
But not very OS, all the same. YS (14) is in charge of cooking dinner tonight, and is making multi storey burgers with bacon & cheese stacked up with the burgers & buns. Still, at least I don't have to cook! (2 nights in a row - must be a record!)
This week & last have been quite busy, as on top of usual stuff we are in charge of feeding cats, a rabbit & umpteen goldfish, almost all of my family have gone on holiday at the same time .. my key ring takes up amost my entire handbag.
Oh, well! At least when we go away there will be a good supply of willing cat-feeders for our mog.
  • Hi There

    Great replies so far!

I am on bedrest but just feel so lazy-so try and do what I can without breaking a sweat..lol. We do a 20 min blitz every morning-so basically the house is clear and tidy-then do one room a day from top to bottom. This is what we do:

    20 Min Blitz Daily

Clear sides lounge/kitchen, put stuff on stairs to take up or unsure, plump cushions, flick duster if needed, vinegar kitchen sides down, sweep floors, washing on, unload dishwasher, clean toilet, dust ceilings/skirting/lights-1 room a day.

We then do one room properly a day (1/2hr-1hr) and when we do the kitchen-we clean 3 cupboards out a week, so basically all the cupboards are done over a 4 week period. Also, I can see what grub we have in and what I need to buy or use up. My DS has a 15min blitz daily schedule she has to do also-or no pocket money :D Only easy stuff-but they have to learn..lol.

    Hope this helps someone anyway.

Makros card-usually you have to be a business I think. They need proof of a letter headed sheet, bank statement etc.

Lady has been out from social services and it went very well-so am really pleased.

Just about to have my Cod in crumbs, mash and veg...starving!

    Have a nice day

    Aft'noon all!

Well, I didnt go to bed till 5am, as I wasnt tired, and got out of bed at around 8.45am this morning, im living on practically no sleep at the moment but feel great for it, ive always known I do better on shorter sleeps as longer ones just make me more lethargic, so all is good really. Ive also learned a new trick to make me wake up in the morning, drink lots of water before bed so the bladder forces wakey.... Prob too much info there but having a lovely day.

Electric died this morning as I was going to post then, so decided to go out into town for a bit, return my mystery shopping stuff and pay a bill or too, and bought a lovely new double fitted sheet and two cushion's (not the covers!) for £8, so I intend to make some cushion covers at some point. The cat has decided to lick the plastic bags though, she is a bit strange, and likes to try and chew plastic bags (the kind bog roll and Next bag kind, she hates sainsburys bags).

Aside from BT line dying (flatmate didnt pay the bill) so last weeks interviewers couldnt contact me, I have had a letter this morning asking me to contact them, im hoping that this means there is a job for me, and I should know by the end of the day (so fingers crossed everyone), and if that is the case, a flat cant be that far behind surely!

Anyhoo - Im all hyperactive at the moment so im going to probably sit down with a movie and do some more quilting, and maybe even do some cleaning and cushion cover making....

    Yey for me today!! :D

Hi everyone, still off sick. Its just a cold/flu bug but I was a bit run down and tired so it has knocked the stuffing out of me.

If I feel better later I will try to wash the car and give it a clean out as it is for sale and needs sprucing up before potential buyers come to see it.

Just about to put some washing on. It is a good 'drying day' as my mum used to say. (I think this means warm and a bit windy.)

I will do a loaf later in my new wonderful panasonic bm as we are down to our last few slices of healthy white, which is all ds will eat. He hates brown, and that is all they have at school.

I have just had an email from Amazon to say they are sending me £34.27 for the sales of my books on amazon marketplace - Big thank yous due to Apprentice Tycoon!

Off to browse... see you all later.
