Yup - im pleased and first round of drinks will be on me I guess! Working in a Building Society, the pay is nice, the benefits and bonuses are nice, and the uniform isnt too horrendous either!

Thank god anyway, it was taking so long - now I can finally relax and know that I will actually be working and earning money reasonably soon - pending reference checks of course! I dont imagine they will be bad anyway, I usually work my !!!!!! off for an employer and tend to do well. So all is good!

    YEY!!!

Well, posting this later than usual, eating my HM lamb curry (again - yum yum)

Not very OS today. Mr TM has abandoned us for the wilds of RAF Uxbridge for 10 days :( House looks like a tornado has landed - but it's just DS1 :) Leftovers for tea but need to put BM on tonight as it all got eaten at lunchtime. Washer is on and vacuuming will need to be done in a little while. My Dyson died yesterday. Obviously a wiring fault so at some point I may take it to bits. If I can't mend it then I've lost nothing as I'm not paying to get it done. I have a Kirby for "real" cleaning.

I need to get some clothes sorted out in the attic - I've no idea where my holiday things are still :) Also, need to read the instructions for the digital camera I've borrowed so I can take the pics and list on ebay after my hols.

Ah well, I have loads of other things that I NEED to do in the next couple of days, but my mind's gone into meltdown today and I can't remember most of them  Have to tape The Bill for next door and will watch Bad Lads Army tonight :D

Maybe a night off and a couple of drinks may help .....................:D

Penny-Pincher - it's not a real recipe in the way that CQ would have it, I expect, but it was scrummy (probably because I just threw it together)

Ingredients - remains of a leg of lamb, cut into chunks (already in freezer, for this purpose)
Assorted veggies - carrots, swedes (par-boiled)
potatoes cooked almost through as cut into large chunks
runner beans in 1 inch chunks,
    some cauli florets
    orange pepper, sliced
mushrooms and aubergine (only put in for last hour and kept large)
    garlic cloves
    2 tins plum tomatoes
stock (mine was lamb from freezer)
    bought curry powder

I put stock into slow cooker and mixed curry powder into it. I had bought a very mild one that hadn't given enough flavour last time so added loads and loads. Added all veggies except mushrooms and aubergines, along with meat. Gave it a good stir and cooked all day on low. 1-2 hours from the end I added warmed through mushies and aubergines and cooked down, leaving lid off for a while to reduce too. Served on it's own with mango chutney.

Trial and error really - last one I made was far too insipid and mushies and aubergines had been in all day so had disintegrated. But I just LOVE curried pots, mushrooms and cauliflower and the lamb in this has been divine.

Yay! Well done jo! xxx

I got some good news today too - the house is definetly on "hold" for me and they have said "see you on the 15th to pick the keys up" so :j

Ive been shopping today - ok i didnt get my sofa or my cooker etc i went looking for but i got loads of bargains! I was cheeky and asked my friend with a car to come with me.. and bring his Asda staff discount card! ;)

Bought loads of Asda Smartprice kitchen utensily things.. thought one the best bargains was 18 smartprice glasses - for £2.47! :j And then 10% off it all cos of my mates discount :j

Went to Matalan and got some things i couldnt carry yesterday - all in the half price sale.. ;) Got a lovely cranberry coloured glass bowl yday for £4 im gonna use as a fruit bowl on my dining table.. going for a retro look as im gonna have a "vintage" late 60's dining table and chairs. So today i got a lamp which is a big round red ball which "glows" looks really funky and for £5 i think its decent as would probably be at least 5 times that for a authentic retro one.

But the bargain of the day has to be my pan set - 3 big sturdy pans for a humugous... £3.50!

Just need to find my cooker, sofa, bed and fridge freezer now though. :o

(Although the lad who shares my locker in work is moving house himself and is selling a fridge freezer for £60 so think i'll be getting that as its £15 cheaper than the cheapest ones i could find in all the local second hand shops)

    Think ive saved looooads today

    Evening all!
Congratulations Jo and Good luck with the bingo night r.mac.
Went shopping yesterday, whilst Im not at work I am trying out different supermarkets as OH always shops at Sainsburys. However had to go to Sainsburys yesterday because I have been saving up my nectar vouchers and wanted to cash them in so I can spend them on school uniform. There is an Aldi just a mile up the road from Sainsburys so I went there first and have been really impressed with the quality of the stuff I bought. I got some lovely steak mince, so for tea we have had cottage pie and I made another for the freezer too. I usually use more mince but I padded it out with extra veg so stretched it further.
DD's have been to friends/had friends round today, but are currently watching "Ella Enchanted" on DVD as Im being a DVD tart at the moment. :p
Tomorrow Im going to a nearby town, which has a farmers market on, Ive never been to one before, so Im looking for the price of the organic meat, they also have a Lakeland shop too.

Ive ordered a compost bin! Im so excited, how sad am I? I saw a recycle roadshow outside Asda last week and they were offering delivery of some really great compost bins starting from £5, but unfortunately I dont live in the right council area. My best friend does however and was very amenable about having my compost bin delivered to her address, so Im collecting stuff to compost in readiness, I didnt realize how much there would be, the same as when I deided to recycle tins and glass, (our council doesnt collect these yet but we are recycling them anyway) I didnt realize how many tins we used until I started collecting them.
Ive persuaded OH to give me a bit of garden for veg and fruit for next year, he gave in because Ive grown some lovely flowers this year, I think he was quite surprised. He doesnt realize the size of the patch of garden I have in mind yet tho'. :D
Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone, Im off to sew in yet more name tapes.
Congratulations Johanne, you must be so excited!! I loved it when we got our first house and I could go and choose all that kitchen stuff etc, and justify the expense!
