    hello

Got a load of washing on and DS1 is all kitted up as a pirate and at the little club at the end of the road for a couple of hours. Already had to shampoo part of the LR carpet (again) as DS2 spilt his juice :( Need to pop out in a moment to do a mystery shopping job - get to spend £10 and keep the purchase - yah :)

After lunch, need to pop into town, return DS1's library book and will visit 3 day market. Butcher will be back off his hols so may stock up on some meat. There's also a large stall that sells all sorts of tinned and dried items that are still in date too (there's one that sell well out of date stuff, but I don't go there) Will see what they have. May make nuggets for boys tea as haven't had them in a while. Then need to visit Dad in hospital.

Right, need to print out my paperwork for MS job, then do a 10 min blitz of the kitchen. Oh, made a white loaf last night with fresh yeast and using rapid bake prog. It looks lovely but will wait until lunchtime for the taste test :D

    Bye,
    TM

Morning all, you sound like a busy lot today.

(((((((Penny))))))))) Sorry you're in pain today.

Ancasta - hope the sun shines through for you too today.

I've done not a lot this morning, the last week has left me shattered and we had an intruder in the house last night :( Left me a little shaky so I'm just going to finish embroidering ds's initials into his socks, finish his packing and then wrap DH's pressies for his birthday tomorrow.

Must do the kitchen floor, it gets so dirty now we've got the new flooring down.

    Morning Old Stylers

Gosh you all sound so busy, I am having trouble filling my days! No doubt at all that will change when Spud finally decides to put in an appearence, think he is just being a drama queen & delaying his entrance to make it super-dramatic!:p
My self-appointed task for the day is to find out abotu laying down wine for 21+ years as I've had the bright idea of creating a little store of wine for Spud's future, just a bottle or 2 a year on his birthday. Trouble is I know NOTHING about wine & all the websites I have looked at so far are aimed at people with far superior knowledge:confused:. Anyone done this or got any recommendations? I have tried asking on I wanna but haven't had much response so far.

    Hope you're feeling better Ancaster.

My daughter's godmother is buying her a bottle of port for the same purpose for her christening. She's found a website that will supply them for not a vast amount of money. It would never occur to me, but I have to say I'm looking forward to Christmas 2022 - she'll be 18 and that port will be YUMMY! I'll see if I can find out what website it was ...

Well so far today I have hobbled out of bed and taken my tablets - not much is it!

I cannot do much. I can just about get dressed which I must to in a minute. I managed yesterday to make a cup of fruit tea so hopefully I might be able to cook by the weekend as my partner - love him - is not the best cook or nurse in the world.

Nevermind I hope to be able to go out soon too. It has been gloriously sunny this morning way down south and I couldnt go out to enjoy it. I hope to at least get to the beach this weekend as sitting in doors is driving me mad

  • A quick note for Lillibet - laying down a bottle or 2 to commemorate a childs birthday reminds me of what we do in our family but on a much cheaper scale. We saved the newspapers from the day our children were born and on every birthday since. They will be great to look back on at a later date.

Im getting close to walking out of work.... i just keep thinking of all the things i could be doing instead of putting up with this vindictive childish !!!!!! from my counterpart. I mean shes almost 50 for god sake, she should act with maturity and decorum instead of petty name calling and one up man ship, including telling someone i couldnt do my job (truth be known i can run circles round her and she knows it)

Got to wait till my boss gets back on the 15th and im putting in a formal complaint.

Sympathies Ancasta - We had a similar thing at work whereby a lady was being nasty to others - we stuck up for a girl in your position and that lady is gone now. I hope you are keeping a diary - we found that so useful and in any case it gets it off your chest as why should you walk out!!

BE strong we are all here to support you. Feel free to pm me with the whole scenario I will try and help if I can.

Thanks Fairylights:T, Port is a good idea, a vaguley decent brand will age well. That will do for now & gives us time to reseach wine etc.

Apprentice Tycoon, we are planning a time capsule for the week Spud is (fianlly) born, best friend/wouldd-be godmother is in charge of getting a selection of newspapers & magazines, that week's no. 1 single, stamps & this years coins. Can you think of anything else we can add? Thanks.
