This morning I cleaned the cooker hood which was disgustingly greasy.I used washing soda and boiling water and it is now beautifully clean again.
We decided to go to the library this afternoon as it looked rainy.
I found the 2nd book in a series DS and I are reading so we are sharing it,DS first as I havent finished book 1 yet.
Also found a few gardening books that looked interesting.
I nipped into the charity shop on the way home and found one of those chicken /meat roasting dishes with the cover and grid for microwaves for 75p (I usually use a big bowl covered in cling film but that leaves the chicken sitting in its own juices which is tricky to joint when its all wet and boiling hot.
We had HM sardine pate for our lunch time sandwiches and potato pie for tea(no OH today ,he hates boiled potatoes).

Morning
Been rather busy of late, but have to OS ways all the same. Once upon a time I would have resorted to ready meals ... but not any more
This morning it's the farmers market .. so OH and I will be popping down to get some lovely fruit and veg. OH will be making bread today and I've promised to make another batch of lemon curd.
I'm job hunting so I'm bringing my CV up to date today in the hope that there is going to be something exciting out there beckoning to meEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning!
Well, we got woken at 6.30 by chirpy son who was ALREADY playing downstairs (heaven knows what time he actually got up) so have had a profitable morning so far. Bathroom cleaned, washing up done, dishwasher unloaded and started to load again and bread dough going in the machine (fancied rolls rather than a loaf today). Now to get DD dressed and down for her nap so I can get the other odds and ends done. letter to the bond people has been posted this morning, so it's just a case of waiting for the money to clear now ... it'll be nice to see that debt number drop!
Other than a trip to the post office, we have no plans today. It's nice to have a lazy day in the offing! I suppose I could make some work-related calls ... hmmmm.
Glad my jobhunting days are behind me. I love my job too much to want to get a "proper" job and put the kids in nursery, although some me time every once in a while sounds nice :rolleyes:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -
Morning Penny,
Sorry to hear you're having another day in pain, do hope the stronger painkillers help.
I was up to 1.40 am this morning working on my business, I didn't notice the time as I was getting so into it and I'm a night owl by nature anyway.
Today I want to hoover the whole house, dust everywhere and wash at least 1 load of washing. OH is currently in bathroom grouting the tiles he put up yesterday so hopefully he will push the boat out and put up another 3 or so tiles  the darn bathroom has been a building site for more than 2 months now and even though I have begged to use my savings to get someone in to finish it OH refuses but due to his perfectionism takes sooo long. I know he's more OS about it but I can only live in a mess for so long!
Have a good day all,

Morning all, I've been up since 7am but have spent all that time getting DS ready and off to Scout Camp. It's DH's birthday so we're off out tonight and I must try and get the house done in the meantime.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning
Started by unloading dishwasher and doing one load of dishes - second load is on now - have cooked breakfast so third load is waiting.
Bread is in machine - just plain white today - cheese and onion is great and I tried Italian herb bread and that is lovely too.
Might make rolls tonight for picnic tomorrow.
Went to Lakeland yesterday and drooled over jam making stuff.
Cannot find a tin of dried yeast anywhere - only fiddly little sachets.
Sure someone mentioned that she used yeast from a tin, but can't remember who."This site is addictive!"

Hi everybody!
Have had quite a busy morning so far. Done the weekly shop at Tesco, 2 loads of washing and OH has set the BM to work. Am now at work and plan to pick up some low wattage night lights on the way home for the small person's room at bedtime in a bid to bring the electricity bill down a little further. This afternoon OH is working so I am keeping the small person happy- I believe I'm making an elephant mask out of old egg boxes from the recycled art book we borrowed from the library!! Then it's frozen veggie spag bol [using Holland & Barrett veggie mince which was a tip I picked up from here] for tea possibly followed by baking a sponge to use up some of the 18 free range eggs a friend gave to me unexpectedly yesterday if I can summon up the energy. However, I expect it's more likely that I'll sit down and read my HP book instead!!
Regards

Hello everyone
I can't believe how much energy everyone has on a Saturday morning. Me - I had a lovely loooong lie in. Have had a read of my Elle Decoration magazine (£1 for 3 issues), made breakfast and fed my puddy cats. Awaiting me today is a trip to the recycling centre/rubbish dump - I have a growing collection of old papers, tins, plastic bottles and so on waiting in the hall to be whisked away. It looks a mess so it's just gotta go. Unfortunately the council hasn't seen fit to leave a recycling bin with my little row of houses yet the other houses in this development have one, half of them unused. Bah!
Also today I'll do lots of washing and cleaning. I want to get as much as possible done today as I'm off work for the next fortnight. I want to use this time to get decluttered, organise a cleaning routine, and generally get a bit more sorted so it doesn't get on top of me again.
I'll put my turkey steaks and lots of veggies in the slow cooker soon (89p bargain) for tonight's tea, tomorrow's dinner and some for the freezer too.
I am so happy to be off work and have some time to myself, it's fabulous.
Have a lovely day everyone.0
