morning all, I'm stuck on yet another 12hour shift, so not much money saving round here (money making and not spending I suppose!) other than my hm breakfast, lunch and tea.
the Film premier I went to last night (for a local made film) was great fun and as I got a lift home afterwards cost me less than not going!I'm sleepy today, but not all that busy so it was well worth it.
I've ordered my Tesco delivery for tommorrow and am in the process of "editing" my purchases down to what I really need, and I've confirmed my organic box is coming on Wednesday (for a trial and then I'll see how often I need it etc).
Right, I'm off to trawl the recipie thread in preparation for my dinner party next saturday (it's my house warming, but I've decided it's cheaper to feed them than buy booze).. still not sure how many are coming so I'll need to do something infinitely expandable (and freezeable) like chili.
(((Penny-Pincher))) - how nice that your family understand that you might appreciate going out and still be able to look after yourself as you need. I hope you're feeling up to going and have a lovely time.Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Late start for me too this morning, bread made overnight waiting fro lunch, veg prepared for supper, rhubarb cooked in the romuska, half for a crumble with some peaches the rest for the freezer. A small load of delicates washed, going to a posh do on Friday needed to freshen up my dress.
Nothing else really planned, will cook supper later, we usually eat around 6pm on Sunday..............oh I forgot cleaned the bathroom........the rest of the house can wait until Wednesday.............

Another !!!!!! day today! OH had to push me out of bed as I couldnt move this morning...will I ever feel half normal :wall: ?
Anyway, once I took pain killers with breakfast, managed to tidy out rotunda in kitchen(sitting on floor) as it was driving me mad(took me half hour and Im now laying on sofa to recover-not feeling good _pale_ ). Didnt realise I had so much store cupbaord items. DH cleaned 2 other cupboards for me, swept through, unloaded/reloaded dishwasher, washload done and on line and has wrapped 10 ebay items that need to go off tomorrow...he's a goodun!
Back at Kings hospital tomorrow, so fingers crossed everyone that I wont have to go back in again...especially not for another 2 weeks! Know he's not going to be happy as there is no change
Been invited to BIL later for a BBQ/Buffet, really want to go and they have said I can lay outside and do nothing, and that it would be nice to see me....ahhh thats sweet..grouphug..lol... :grouphug: Think some of the family (ones that matter to me)have finally realised that I am ill...pity its taken 2 years, but better late than never.
Think, if I go (told OH & DS to go anyway...free food..lol-saves cooking!) I will take a bottle of Red Blossom Hill (won at DS school raffle-well actually 5 bottles :silenced: ) bottle of Bucks Fizz thats been in the wine rack for months and make some HM Chicken & Pasta Carbonara...scrummy. Probably do this at lunch and make loads and take the rest round-OH likes it with bread and butter. Im gonna have breaded haddock, mash and veg for lunch
Have a great day guys and hope you are all well. Going to have a nap.

Well I didnt get up until 11 as no point as I cant do anything. I think that I might just make it down the path outside today and thats a real effort I can tell you. I havent worn make up in a week that is really rare.
Well see what happens I think my other half is desperate for me to cook something - shouldnt really but I could do with a decent meal too bless him. Poor guy has got to bath me in a minute!!All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -
Morning my lovlies.
I od'd on sweeties lastnight so the food colouring sent me doolally and OH had to carry me to bed and shout at me till i stopped giggling and screaching. I then stood on the bed and pretended to surf while singing a nancy sinatra song. it was quite funny at the time cuz OH was drunk.
Must remember not to buy Haribo then eat the full packet
Today i have to list some hair extensions on Ebay (im desperate for some more mortgage fun money) and make some new extensions as well as prepare my workshop for a client coming round tomorrow night for some dreadlocks, 9hr shift at work 2moro then 6 doing hairick. Im just thinking of the money!!!
Roast chicken and all the trimmings tonight. OH has gone out with his dd and twin brothers today as he only sees his dad once a fortnight.
OH's birthday on Thursday coming so i might nip to asda and get him a cake today... then again i might not
Will report back later when im not slightly shaking from food colouring overdose.
Silly me0 -
'afternoon everyone
Early start today. Bread was ready to come out of the breadmaker at 6 am and at 7.30 went with OH to two local car boots.
Got 2 more cookery books (you can never have enough) - Mary Berry's Meat Cookery for £1 and a lovely big vegetarian cookbook for 50p. OH picked up a professional kitchen sieve for 50p and a big cake box for £1.50. The OS kitchen is really taking shape.
Just had some of the lamb I bought from the farmer's market yesterday. Absolutely gorgeous! Sorry supermarkets ... but it's the local butcher and farmer's markets for me from now on. Taste wins hands down.
OH also very happy with his car boot finds - a Readers Digest DIY manual and a couple of PC games.
We've also walked miles walking up and down the rows of stalls ... so lots of exercise as well as saving money.Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Aftnoon!
Had a very lazy day, didnt wake up till 12 (went to bed at 2am) - sleeping pattern is still a bit od, im having two days of sleeping 3-4hrs a night, then the 3rd night I sleep long. Very Bizzare.
Anyway - ive done sod all today, ive looked at the pile of laundry in the bathroom, I sorted it, then decided that im going to have it all washed by this evening if it kills me, so have to start searching for 20p's for laundrette (goddamm laundrettes are so EXPENSIVE!!) I should write a letter and complain, but never mind.
Also have to write two letters today, and two emails - but the emails are fun ones to people I like, wheras the letters are to council and landlord, who I dont like and are therefore not fun.
Aside from that, ive got some movies to take back to blockbuster, and ill probably have some more too - that 3 for £5 deal really is good!
Dinner will probably be something with baby new potatoes and either beef or chicken - but I dont realy know what else - but then again I have a lovely jar of yellow thai curry paste which would go nice with the chicken and I have lots of rice. I'll decide on the detail of dinner later, as im still in early morning tea drinking and reading mse mode.
I also have to find a good isa for all my pin money, as I got paid some mystery shopping money this weekend, and ive decided to try and save as much a possible for xmas - pin money = xmas money for me! My nectar card balance is looking healthy too, and ive decided to save them all for xmas food shopping, the supermarket savings card idea is out of the window and will go in my isa to gain interest. I want to find one not with my bank, knowing that it will take days to transfer the money instead of instant between my current and savings with RBS hopefully will stop me bothering with it.
So - off I go to find a savings account, the mse savings article page here I come...

Hi all, well theres good news and bad news on saving money today.... I'll get the bad news outta the way first, lost £4.00 on a 'free mobile ringtone' yes, I wont get into it, but to recoup some of that money lost, we did grab a few bargains at the car boot, 3 lovely glass bowls, ideal for salads and rice and fruit dishes, £1. Urgently needed 'socket thingies' for OH 50p, would be over £5 if bought from Halfords apparently. A nice pot butter dish, £1. Socks from Tesco 2 pairs for 65p, now thats a bargain, we go thru socks like nobodies business.
Kids have gone on their Summer Camp for a week, and we saved loads sending them on that, (see my earlier thread for more info if you have older kids for next year)
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=79734
And now I must do the cleaning up for the week and relax til Friday when they return.
Going to see Fantastic Four at pictures 2mrw for free thanks to Minster FM, its a York radio station that gives away free tickets if you email them. So on the whole a great day.
Have a nice evening Teresa x0 -
Hello - I know all about losing out on those ringtone thingies. I can't understand why anyone would want to waste money on a ring tone, but hey, that's up to you
I also opened Mr TM's phone bill the other day (it's in my name) and he'd spent £5.11 on downloads!! When I asked him he said, 'oh yes, they didn't work' So, £5 down the drain then ! Grrrrrrrrr
Anyway, my friends didn't make it so I have loads of casserole for the freezer. Also, decided to make a fruity bread and the house smelt divinely of nutmeg and cinnamon, then I went to get it out of BM and found I hadn't pressed the 'add extras' button, so there's no fruit in itTeach me to do it in a rush. Ah well, cinnamon bread for me then
At least my house is clean and tidy.
ps Anyone seen my holiday clothes?. Was in attic today and I can't find them. I've probably put them somewhere silly, like the wardrobe0 -
Good evening all,
Another lovely lie in this morning, out for a couple of hours at the local old ruined abby and park - still feeling very low from this cold, just can't seem to shake it.. DH's coming down with it now too and is "dying" like men do.
Got the front grass cut and sat down for a few hours with my books and managed to get up to date (1st year of being self employed  ) Cooked a yellow lable joint of pork for tea with roast veggies - not a single thing left....not even a lowly carrot!!! Suppose I should be pleased they all enjoy my cooking!
DD's have been sorting out for a bootfair in 2 weeks time - they've sorted out loads of stuff they don't want anymore - they're looking forward to having their own section of the stall and making some money. Actually got round to listing some DVD's on ebay yesterday afternoon - had a look about 5 mins ago and already got bids on 7 of them - that's made me happy!
Off to put the kids to bed now and a nice relax and surf for a while......money spent today....£0.00!!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Weekly shop in the car this morning. We got there 15 minutes to 10 and it was open (YAY) so we'd done it all and were home by 10.20.
Stuck a washing line full of washing out when we got back.
OH cut the old door in half for my cold frame project and mowed the front lawn!
I bought some Hazlet(meat slice) in Asda for 29p (reduced) and we had it with salad and cheese in sandwiches for lunch.I managed to slice it into 6 slices with my slicer.
My neighbour gave me some of her windfalls so we had apple crumble for this evenings pud and I boiled up the cores so I can save the resulting juice as Pectin for my jam making.
I did the usual digging and now have a veg patch that is 40 ft X 40 ft and have potatoes, french beans, rocket, leeks and radishes peeping out at me and onions, cabbage and spinach sewn.
We borrowed 3 dvd's from blockbusters yeasterday and saw Equilibrium last night and Bridget Jones 2 and Hostage today.0
