Had a bit of an overspend in town today, I decided that both me and boyf needed new socks and pants, so spent around £25 in marks and spencers as they have some multipacks on offer. At least we wont run out before laundry day :o:D

I also bought a Lush Handcream, but I did need a good one anyway, so Im trying to justify the expense by thinking of my comfort instead! And that I need to have pretty hands when I start work!

Am going to make dinner and then settle down for an evening of quilting and watching TV, I dont feel in the mood to clean, and I need to around to crack the whip over boyf to do some more research for other upcoming interviews!

This morning I made 1/3rd whole meal 2/3 white bread as kids dont really like 100% wholemeal bread. It turned out well amd nobody moaned.
I spent the day drawing out a cutting plan and then cutting ,some old shelves we have had in the shed, into the pieces for my new cold frame for the garden. Most of the wood was from the shelves and the rest was an old seat back that we bought 19 years ago and took to pieces(couldnt throw good wood away).
Will have to go to the shop tomorrow though as I need brass screws and paint to finish it off.We have loads of screws but none of them are brass(weatherproof).
I also planted out some lettuce seeds in the hope that they'll mature before the weather gets colder.
Was looking at our water butt today and wondering if I could get some sort of rain diverter thingy to attach to the down pipe from the kitchen roof as it is completely useless at the moment at the other end of the garden. The only way it would get any water, would be if I fill it with a hose .
  • Just sat down!!!

Still loads to do but never mind. Found more stuff for Ebay and the bedroom looks half clutter free.
Downside had fish and chips for dinner because I couldn't be bothered to cook!!

    Morning all!

Well, Im having a morning cup of tea, the cat is watching the seagulls out of the window, and boyf is playing guitar. An early one for us!

I have no particular plans for the day, except calling a few friends, drinking tea and a bit of handwashing to do. I intend to crack the whio over boyf today - he has plenty to do and he's buggered if he thinks im helping again, as he's gotta learn sometime!

Im going to attempt to make bread today if the landlord keeps out of the way, yesterday he had his mum with him and I heard her calling him all manner of names for his uselessness, she's clearly the boss of that household - and she is the real landlord of this place in name, her son appears just to do the legwork....

HM Burgers for dinner tonight, mince is already out of the freezer and defrosting in the fridge, the only thing I forgot to buy at tesco last night was the mayonnaise (which boyf cannot eat a single meal without for some odd reason) so Ill have to take a quick trip to sainsburys too.

Oh, and musnt forget to take the video's back as they are due today, and will probably end up getting another!

    Have a lovely day all!

Nice start to the day. I had to mop up dog sick from the kitchen floor. At least the sun is shining

  • Good morning!

Well, productive so far - I'm actually washed and dressed which is a record for us - the whole house was washed and dressed first thing today! Yogurt on, BM on, nappy wash on ... now to get tidying. Since I got organised, the house is cleaner, if not tidier (I defy ANYONE to be tidy with 2 under threes  :o )

DS has a haircut booked for this afternoon - last one was fine, but he's never been happy having it cut. Only trusts me to do it (and we've talked about me training as a hairdresser to save on tears  ) but I don't want to do a full cut, especially since there'll be photos taken at the christening on Sunday. I don't want to be held responsible for that. Plus he has a double crown, so short short will always end up tufty. Will have to buy a pack of yogurt raisins as a bribe to get him to sit still - last time was a punnet of strawbs!

Toad in the hole for tea tonight. Am just debating about making a pudding too ... I think I'll save it for the weekend.

Hope everyone's in for fun sunny days :D

    Good morning!
Sorry I'm not very much awake this lovely sunny morning, as our daughter went into labour last night, so have been only half asleep all night, waiting for updates & news! She went into hospital this morning just after 5.30 so am now waiting for phone call. They live quite a long way from us, and at times like this wish they were closer! She will have a busy time with 2 littlies, as her daughter is only 13 months old!!!!!

    Morning My Lovelies.

Had a very rough start to the morning, i was up till about 4am doing impromptu hair extensions as my original client didnt bother to turn up and then said they would be 90 mins late and as it takes about 4-5 hours to do the extensions thats a LATE night, plus i'd done a long shift at work. My VGF(very good friend) let me braid her hair for her and down to nattering and dorito breaks it too ages but it was fun.

Didnt have time for OS lastnight tbh, i spent £5 on chips and dips for us so we wouldnt end up dialling for pizza or chinese or something as i didnt have time to be able to prepare a meal, inbetween doing hair.

Up at 6.30 this morning and off into town for work. VGF didnt have to go to work today as she has just been made redundant so she treat me to a BK breakfast to say thanks for doing her hair at very short notice.(i braided her mid back length hair).

Got house work to do today, and go to Asda to get OH his winnie the pooh birthday cake :)

Will report back later when im fully awake.. im a bit dead to the world
  • Good morning all! Lovely and sunny again here in Taunton today, but was rather chilly when I woke up.

Just been looking at the finances again for last month, and what with a string of overdue payments, a few bank charges and over our overdraft, food and fun budget has to be cut drastically when I am paid on 15th. If we can survive the mext month without goimng over the ocerdraft or missing payments, I think we will be back on track. Fish finger sandwiches all round then he he! We must be able to do it though mustnt we? Ideas we have so far are:

    - Not taking more than £1 each to work with us (just enough for a paper etc)
    - Not taking money out with us at weekends, in case we buy stuff
    - Using as much stuff in the cupboards/freezer as possible until next month (will do an inventory tonight and search for recipes after)

Anyone else got any other good ones for short term cut backs? Thanks guys!

Nothing much OS today - at work but nothing much to do (calm before the dtorm) so will spend most of the day mooching on the net and preparing Christmas card lists etc. Tea tonight will probably be fish and chips from the freezer.

Hope everyone is well - Chipps I hope all is well with your daughter!!

Good morning all.....the sun's trying to shine here - quite a nip in the air tho, they say it should get up to around 24 today....yeah right......can really begin to sense the autumn....

Finally got off my backside and got to the docs about my cold which just wont shift --- it's a sinus infection which is probably why I feel like I need a tap inserting.....hopefully the antibiotics will kick in quick.

My parents have taken DD's again today (not coming back till 4pm) and DH is still in bed, the house is as tidy as it's getting and the washing's all done. Will crack on with some ironing later, want to hoover out the car, clean the parrots cage and sort something for dinner. Packaged lots of bits up for ebay yesterday but have run out of recycled jiffy bags and card, will need to get into the loft and see what I've stored up there.....

S.P. Forget about taking £1 to work for a paper, read them online or borrow someone elses....have a weekend indoors - that way you can't spend any money, see if you can invite your selves round to parents or friends for a few of your meals over the next week.....A trip to the library if all else fails....even if you sit there for a few hours reading its better than wandering around the shops spending money, take advantage of their internet, have a look at their range of story cd's etc.....out local library doesn't charge for childrens story c.d's.....you'd be amazed at what comes under the childrens titles..

    Have a good one all
