Sorry to hear you are not sleeping well Penny Pincher - hope the pain-killers have kicked in an that you've managed to go back to sleep for a while.

A change of scenery will probably do you the world of good ... I always find that going to the coast does me the world of good ... hope it does the same for you!

Not sleeping well here too. Problems at work are keeping me awake. I'm applying for jobs but current one is well paying and I can't afford the drop too much. It's so bad at the moment though I'm prepared to move house!

I'm up early to hunt for on-line job sites ... just wanted to drop into OS first to reassure myself there are nice people in the world.

Anyway back to OS things. OH is enjoying his week off and has taken it on himself to help me out by working his way through the ironing pile. It has helped that we were forced to buy a new iron on saturday when our old one finally gave up the ghost. The new one (bought after researching best buys on MSE of course) ACTUALLY presses the clothes!

Now back to the job hunt ... hope you all have lovely OS days!
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Morning

Sorry to hear you're not good again P-P

DS's have me up with the lark - trouble is DS2 did his "I don't want to sleep again" trick last night and is currently sooooo tired, he's beside himself - going to be an interesting day! Have to get the ironing done - was going to do it last night bu decided (once DS2 asleep) to olour hair and get those 'little bits' ready for the hols. We were going to go away next Monday and stay with my sister for a few days in Eastbourne before going to France for a week, but depending on how Dad is, will depend on when we go as sis may come up here.

Will go to hospital later. Dad was OK about everything yesterday - it was mum in a worse state. Had to take boys with me yesterday as all friends out/on hols/had visitors but will try again to get a babysitter. I had to bribe them with a Burger King tea to stay there and be good, but managed over an hour before DS2 was too tired/hungry.

apple_mint, I know what it's like to replace something then find the new ones are soooooooo much better. I got a new iron with a teflon sole plate as I was fed up of Mr TM glueing gunge to the bottom of the other!! And I invested in a big decent quality ironing board too - makes the job so much faster :)

Off back to bed to watch the news, drink my tea and work out what this rash is on the roof of my mouth  very strange. Got a sore throat too so must have eaten something last night that I'm allergic too as that's what it feels like. Must hunt out the Bonjela too :)

    Have a good one, all

    Morning everyone,
Sorry to hear about the situations that are causing you all to suffer lack of sleep. (((hugs))) all round!
I have to confess to having had a couple of nights with little sleep too, but for a different reason. Our daughter had her baby (eventually!) last night at about 11pm - another girl! So today will probably not be very OS at all, as we will go down to see them, which will probably entail eating out etc... not to mention the cost of the diesel to get there... but who cares!!!! The whole point of OS is so that we can afford not to be OS when we need to!
Have a good day, all of you

    Good morning,

Teenagers still sleeping but I woke up streaming, think it's hayfever, don't usually get it but presumably something has decided to have nice pretty flowers now. Just got a :coffee: to try to get my head working.

Ticklemouse - I was so pleased to hear that you managed to have a good session with your father. We had a similar thing with my father last year too. You just have to get through it as best you can, best wishes for you & your family. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Pennypincher - Enjoy the break. Congrats on getting the grants through.

Apple_mint - Congrats on the new iron, and on having a OH who doesn't mind helping with the ironing :D I've got a OH like that too :D I don't think even a new iron & board will get me to like ironing though :o

Got to get moving DS2's meeting another friend at the airport today, so got to clean the house ready for their stay and the weather forecast said it's going to be 31/32

Edit - Congratulations Chipps on the new arrival, was busy posting when you posted.

    Morning My Lovelies

Had a bit of a lie in today (extra 40 mins) as i was sooo burnt out lastnight. Thoroughly enjoyed my bubble bath with matey. its such a nice smell.
Did a quick flick roundi n the living room but there is a mountain of dishes that i should have done lastnight but by the time i got home from having to go go asda to get OH's birthday cake for tomorrow and other bits, and then made a bite to eat i was *very* close to passing out with exhaustion.

OH is back for good tonight so im super chuffed. Gonna take him to TGI fridays tomorrow night possibly with a BOGOF voucher i spotted on either the voucher board or the freebie board (hes paying tho :rotfl: ).

nothing too OS today, got some fresh bread to have tonight with tea, hopefully going to be some nice yummy thick soup to warm the cockles, or a huge bowl of pasta with the fresh bread to mop up.... altho saying that it could also be mince and dumplings with mash as we have bucketloads of pots to use. hee hee hee

Will report back later once ive perked up alittle

    Morning!

Have to go take my passport to new job today again, as they didnt take correct copies first time round! Oh well, an opportunity for a walk for me today then!

Ive had my morning tea but my tonsils are feeling a bit strange, im hoping im not coming down with something and think another tea will probably be a good idea!

Have some more handwashing to do today, I steamed through a lot yesterday, so they are all pretty much dry hanging on the airer in the bathroom, and need to give the bathroom floor a good mopping, and the hallways need hoovering.

Aside from that, I have no idea what to make for dinner this evening, but I have a few bits in and will probably do something with chicken, and maybe potatoes. Im thinking maybe some stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in bacon, but who knows!

Ill order some of those plastic containers you get takeaways in today too, ive come up with a plan for when we move - Both boyf and I are going to be really busy as will both be working full time, he also has a band and im re-joining the Army Cadets as an adult instructor, so its almost as if we have fun part time jobs on top - Ill do a day of batch cooking various things and put them into takeaway containers to freeze, so on the evenings we are both too busy to cook, we can both get fed quickly and healthily!

Ive also been saving the plastic things inside pizza wrappers so I can premake a load of pizza's too - boyf had loads of those 'fresh' pizza's from tesco that have really good sturdy black plastic containers, so im recycling them to hold my pizzas.

I have no idea how to fill the rest of my day, so I think ill just report back later when ive done something of interest!

    Jo xx

There won't be much moneysaving or old style for me today - I have to go out and buy a new mobile phone thanks to someone stepping on mine: "Er, is it broken?" "It's in two halves. Course it's broken!"

I was hoping to hang out washing, but it's pouring with rain.

I've been dieting so not much home baking. I have to eat it all at once - well, it'll go stale if I don't.

I have some patchwork, and some quilting to be getting on with, but I've had a knitting frenzy instead and finally finished the last piece of a fair isle jumper. I just hate the making up part.
