-2.5%..Where In your area maybe...You're looking overall in the UK for house costs reductions, but look in your arrea..Have all the good houses gone down...I doubt it...
When northern house prices rise dramatically, and then reality hits in that northerners canot afford it, they drop...Wow...who could have predicted that?!?!?!?!?
Southeners have very much more money, and prices will stay the same. In fact, they will go up.
My pediction , outskirts of London will increase by 20% ..NIC
You still won't buy a house...well.......0 -
Tbh, I believe that if this sale had fallen through and we'd gone back on the market we'd have been looking at cutting our price by at least 10%. And I wouldn't have been confident we'd have been successful.
I may just be extra paranoid after the last few months of tension waiting to exchange. But I feel a bit like I've just gotten the last boat off the Titanic.0 -
Glad you've sold and put the hassle behind you....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Thanks for all the congrats.
Though it turns out there is no pleasing me. Every so often I look around my lovely house and am so sad to be leaving it. It really is a very beautiful house. But I can't take the area anymore. It's not inner-city but it has a very inner city vibe and I'm too old and boring to deal with it. My buyers are born and bred in this area so at least I know they'll be happy here.0 -

Oh joy someone has managed to sell their house. We have had our place up for sale for 13 months now. Twice accepted offers only for the buyer to pull out as their purchaser 'changed their mind'. Our agent sold nothing in May and not much is selling in this area be it flat/semi/detached or like us a bungalow. I took early retirement last year with a view to moving somewhere quiet and I am trying to remain positive and making the right moves by reducing our price downwards and still have had no viewings for over 5 weeks now. Trouble is I can't see us moving in the foreseeable future with the state of the world economics.
So good luck to all who manage to sell this year.0 -
Just to say to all of you who think it will never happen - well it did for us. After two previous buyers pulled out (one for very good reason - others were timewasters) we ended up renting our house during last winter. We then put it back on the market in the spring and have finally exchanged and completed.
We were moving due to relocation of work over 200 miles and there were times when we got to think that this day would never happen - but it did and to all those who are in the same boat of needing to move then try to keep going - it is hard, but very worth it in the end. X
