I hate selling my house.

Just a quick rant before I get on with tidying my house to perfection. Again.
I just hate selling my house, it is honestly one of the worst things I have ever, ever done. I hate tidying the place for viewings. I hate never being able to make plans because at any minute there might be a viewing. I hate not being able to get on with my life until the place is sold. I hate having to walk round, and round, and round the park with my dogs while people are looking at my house - usually in the dark. I hate the uncertainty about my future while we are selling.
And I hate that my husband works such long hours that he takes no part in the selling process. And that he is always so bloody cranky on Saturday mornings because he wants to have a lie in but can't because people are in our house.
The worst part is that we have only been on the market for 2 and a half weeks, and have had 12 viewings. Which imo, is pretty good going in this market. But I just want it over. The estate agent called this morning and for a split second I thought he was going to pass on an offer and this would all be over, but no, he was just making 2 more appointments.
I hate selling.:(

We are in the same position, been on the mare=ket since May last year, everyone loves our house but needs to sell theirs. Completely stuck, can't move on, very stressfull. We have continued to have lots of viewings every week, at least two a week sometimes more. All very positive. Need to sell but can't move forward.0

Do you guys have to sell esp the OP (as she hates it so much).
OWMTough times never last longer than tough people.0 -
Oh, I wish! Nobody is even looking at ours. It's depressing really. Good Luck OP, I'm sure it'll sell soon. XX0

12 viewings in just over 2 weeks... We have been on the market for 3 weeks, and we had... wait for it..... 1 viewing!!!! Deeply disappointed with our EA - took a week to get the details done and then nearly another week for it to go on rightmove, and it was in the newspaper only the first week - when no house details were available!!!!!!
Oh, and even now, hree weeks since the start, they haven't sorted the floor plans - they are the wrong way around!!!!!!!!
Sorry, rant over....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
I completely sympathise GarcieP, as have been in the exact same situation - loads of viewings, no offer, feelings of uncertainty and invasion of privacy
I think there are a lot of time-wasting-house-browsers out there at the moment just viewing with no intention to buy. Although it is difficult to restrict viewings, you can ask the agent to refuse anyone whose house is not even on the market.
The whole process of buying and selling is very stressful and frustrating and having your house up for sale and the associated viewings is just the beginning sadly.

Why don't you restrict the viewings to certain days/times if it's that bad?

I really, really want to sell. Our place is in an urban part of London and I have had it with city life* and I want to move to the nice quite suburbs.
*Well life in this particular city anyway. I'd be very, very happy to move back to Dublin.0 -
Well - at least there is interest in your house. It is not easy to have to put up with allthe viewings, but you will get an offer.
Have you thought of having an open day?Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I am not even in your positon yet and I am getting fed up! lol
Putting the flat on the market in the next week or so. Have spent the past 2 weeks touching up the paintwork, clearing out clutter, trying to get it ready for viewings, ringing up Solicitors, Estate Agents, etc....then the next day the flat is messy again and we haven't even got it on the market yet! Its hard keeping a one bed flat, with 2 of you living in it, clutter free. I am not working so it will be me that either attends most of the viewings or will have to go out everytime, not sure if I want to be there or not yet.
But its a necessary evil!A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0
