I prefer their sister service https://www.voipstunt.com, they too have the same system, but both only allow about 1 - 2 minutes in total free from the webpage. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

I have been on Voipcheap for almost a year now and originally only had to put in £5 (inclusive of 16% VAT).
They have got a PayByPhone service whereby you phone a number for £1.50 and £1.19 gets credited to your account where it states that the credit is only valid for 14 days. However when I set an account up for my mother last month this way her credit is set to expire in 120 days.
I even brought a WiFi UTStarcom phone and managed to unlock it from Vonage and configure it the SIP service.
However I checked today and they have hiked the prices from free to 1p/min to land line calls around the world (e.g. Australia, Hong Kong & USA).
This is the same for most of the sister companies (sipdiscount.com/ voipbuster.com/ voipstunt.com/ internetcalls.com/ sparvoip.de/ poivy.com/ netappel.com/ webcalldirect.com/ freecall.com).
I think some give you free access to other countries but they charge after a limit. BUT one sister company still has free to many countries: http://www.voipdiscount.com/en/rates.html
I will change my outgoing provider when my credit runs out and voipcheap for incoming, to a local number.0 -
When your credit runs out on one of their companies it is usually better to choose one of their other (newer) companies rather than reload your existing account as the newer ones frequently offer more "free" destinations.
Their "freecall.com" company home page says 5 hours free without making any payment and includes Australia, Hong Kong and USA.0 -
I've just noticed today that VOIPSTUNT seems to have gone chargeable on all calls... whereas VOIPCHEAP has a few free locations still...
I think it is really sly the way this company really does increase it's prices without notice...0 -
I take it you are referring to the .co.uk version of VoIPCheap and not the .com version, although you don't say.
The VoIPStunt site are still listing the following countries as free within your 300 free mins prer week:-
Argentina
Australia
Austria
Belgium
Canada
Chile
China
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Hong Kong (+mobile)
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Liechtenstein
Luxembourg
Malaysia
Monaco
Netherlands
New Zealand
Norway
Portugal
Singapore (+mobile)
South Korea
Spain
Sweden
Taiwan
United Kingdom
United States (+mobile)
Once you have used up your 300 mins of free calls, you will be charged the rate indicated on the rates list. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
If you look under the red summary box at the rate.... none are free
and yes voipcheap.co.uk
edit - Ah yes I see what you mean.... but they never used to show it like that.... I'll give mine a try tonight - I also need to add a credit.0 -
Looks like https://www.voipcheap.co.uk have re-jigged their pricing again:
The following country landlines are 1p/minute unless you have topped up your account and have "freedays" left and have used less than 5 free hours a week:
Australia
Belgium
Chile
Cyprus
Denmark
Estonia
Germany
Hong Kong
Italy
Japan
Luxembourg
Malaysia
New Zealand
Norway
Panama
Puerto Rico
Russian Federation
South Korea
Spain
Sweden
Thailand
United States (+mobile )
However they are now charging 1p/minute for UK calls. Looks like you win some but then you loose others.0 -
I bought a sip adapter and set it up to use VOIPCHEAP after getting a few free calls with the software...only to find that today, all call to UK are not free anymore....!
http://www.voipcheap.co.uk/en/rates.html
minimum cost is 1 euro... which seems to be mounting up already.. as I only have £9.00 left in the account ... Dont get caught out !0 -

You could register with one of the other incarnations... such as VOIPSTUNT and use the SIP adapter with that instead. (but clearly you will lose the credits)0 -
