O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

My wife is due her first upgrade with O2 next month - she is currently on the 02 200 online tarriff (200 mins 500texts) for £30 a month - I am on the discount 500 tarriff (500mins 100text) for £17.50 - I would like to know how best to go about getting my wife on a similar tarriff is there a deal out there that I can quote so they will offer this for her - the phone she wants is the w810i.

Is the O2-500 Upgrade available for 12 months extension or only for 18 months?. Is there more information available on this tariff in O2 website?.

Ok I rang them back this morning and I have settled on the following:

Sony K800i for £49.99
18 Month Contract
400 Mins & 200 Texts a month for £30
£270 credit applied to account
1 Month roll over mins / texts

I actually wanted the 18 month deal because it offers double mins for the life of the contract.

Tip: They have just had a delivery of the K800i so get in there quick if you want one too!

The tariff you have isn't the discount one - it's the one I've just been offered in place of the Discount 500 (see my post on the previous page) - it's called O2 500 and is £17.50 for 500 mins and 100 texts - but I managed to get a 20% discount on this and got it for £14 with a Nokia 6230i. You should be able to get it for her just by asking for it, and see if you can get a discount!

Its actually the 02 500 with a 50% discount so it is the same as the old discount 500 tariff - thats good to get another 20% off I shall be trying my hardest - what did you say to get this? when I tried there was nothing else I could get off he said "it is the absoltue cheapest tariff"

Got myself O2 discount 500 and 100 text with £12.50 for 12 months and first 3 months free with SE K800i and free bluetooth ... Thats the vest deal ever ... so pleased ... Phone sent today via DHL today ... great ... Thanks to Matrix for strting this thread.

Hi there i currently am on this tariff at the moment, its a one month rolling contract priced at £25 a month for 200 mins and 1000 texts. I was wondering do you think they would lower the tariff if I threatened to leave after say 6 months. Even a fiver less a month would do!

I have just called o2 to cancel my contract (currently on £19 month 50mins and 500 texts) and was offered 200 mins and 500 text for £24 month. They wouldn't offer anything better saying they don't do more than 500 text per
month. Has anyone got any good deal from them, I need about 800 texts a month and only about 100 mins?

i was on the same tariff never went over except like 10p,, a few times,, i rang and said three have offered me 500mins 500 text for £17 she sed she'll give me 750 texts and 300mins for £15 a month with either a free phone or £100 credit,, i took credit,.
