Hi,
Hint re cheap prepay mobile - Keep your old handset and be prepared to leave the network for the enemy (or at least threaten to)...when it came to renewal time, I managed to get a prepaid package for £69.99 for the year after haggling them down from £139.99 when I told them I would be leaving them to go to Vodafone if they didn't come up with a better deal - they rapidly backtracked and knocked £70 off as long as I agreed to stay with them and didn't upgrade my handset during the year OK, so please vote me "best post of the month" for this alone!!. The deal was for 75 mins per month, so not a bad deal all in all considering no monthly rental.

how much do i need to spend to be a hvc?If i have helped, use the thanks button!0 -
I have just negotiated with O2 retentions the following:
Nokia 6131 on O2 200 (200 x network mins plus 200 texts) for £15/month. The O2 200 should only be 100 texts but after several phone calls to the retention team, I managed to get an extra 100 texts per month and for only £15 instead of the £30.0 -
HVC's are usually those whose monthly spend is or exceeds £35. I don't think they count retentions-offered discounts (like line rental discounts) against your monthly spend.0

i was def not a HVC and i got a really good deal,, i think alot depends on the person0

Me too, I try and keep my bills as low as I can. Last contract 750 mins anytime any net £15 a month, bill around £20/£25 a month.
I got offered 1000 anytime any net and 200 texts, sammy D600 and £90 refund as they messed me about for over a week all for £20 a month for an 18 month contract. I didn't want an 18 month contract, but with the above being offered I think its well worth taking, and you also get 18 month phone warranty on there 18 month contracts, which I didn't know about:D .0 -
Hi. Just rang O2 customer retnetions. Offered:
- 1000 anytime xnet mins
- 200 txts
= £37.50 a month for 12 month contract
Only marginally better than what I'm on now (similar price for 750 mins).
Can I do better? I spend a lot, avg bill £45.
Cheers! J0 -
Called back again, and they said that was all they were offering. Enquired about the tarrif I am on now, they said they no longer do half price line rental on the Discount 750!...... so looks like they won't offer me a better deal than I'm on..... what shall I do? Worth emailing customer relations? Dont understand as Im a very good customer

I just called them ...
I'm now on 200 minutes and 500 texts for £15 p/m (was £30).
I roped them into giving me the XDA mini for £30 and all on a 12 month contract. I was tempted by T-mobile, but they kept me. I told them the truth as well:
I need a cheaper tariff because I'm now unemployed, my old phone is knackered and I met a lovely girl, but she's very demanding on the phone so I need more texts and minutes.
I ditched the extra minutes and texts (they offered me them for an extra fiver) and said I'd just get a bolt-on if I ever go over. The XDA has wifi too, so I can use messenger more when I'm out and about, so I don't think I'll go over my allowance.0
