I think they may be telling lies. I wanted a 6280, which was withdrawn(although I know they were withdrawn) then continually out of stock (I'd worked out my new tariff a few weeks before my upgrade date) until the exact day of my upgrade. I'd called to tell them I didn't want to renew my contract after all as they couldn't give me a date for the phone and what do you know, it just happened to be in stock.

just rang them, the first guy I spoke to would only give me a new deal that wasn't as good as the one I'm on......
so I rang again and this time got the O2 200 ( same plan ) at a £10 discount and a free 750Ki which is the same phone as I have now, so I get a new one of those, maybe not as good as some but it's enough for me

Yeah, I got it thanks.

You're right, I had to get retentions to authorise it on their system, normal CS couldn't do it! Must be a limited number that they've got.
