Ive been with o2 for nearly 2 years now.
I rang them the other day to see if i could upgrade early or i may consider leaving, she said to call back on the 13th and they could upgrade a month early.
Im currently on the online200 paying £30 a month for 200minutes & 500texts.
A few of the lads at work have the Nokia 8800 on got theres for free but are paying more a month so i doubt i can get this phone.
If i cant, i would be after the Samsung D600.
What deal do i try and go after, do i see if i can get the online200 for half the price?
Thanks
I would advise that you find a good deal online then call 02 and speak to the retentions team. Tell them you are thinking about leaving as you can't afford £30 any more so can they match the deal you have found. Thats exactly what I did and now I am paying £15 per month for 200 anytime/any network mins and 500 texts. You might have to call a couple of times as the first guy I spoke to didn't offer me much but I called back 10 mins later and spoke to someone else and got my deal. I didn't want a new phone so I got £100 credit instead.
HTH:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Im about to ring them up now.
Does anybody know of any good offers elsewhere atm, as i cant really find anything spectacular compared to o2.0 -
Just got a deal im happy with.
Was currently paying £30 a month for 200minutes & 500 texts.
Theyve went down to £19 a month for 500minutes & 200 texts
(I used to use loads of texts when i first got the contract but only use about 200 a month now)
I may well stick 100 extra texts on for £5 a month, either way im getting alot better deal, for less money.
Oh yeh, plus i get to choose between a Samsung D600 or Sony W800i for FREE0 -

Thats a good deal. Which fone are you having? I was very annoyed by 02 when I asked to have the W800i for free as I was told they didn't do that fone. When I found out they did and complained they weren't bothered. Iv'e just got a W800i from a friend of hubbys. Iv'e only got it this evening and I'm well impressed with it.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

I'm more than likely going to get the Samsung D600.0 -
I rang up O2 retentions the other day and got 100mins and 300texts per month for £10per month which included a new Motorola PEBL. I thought this was quite good as i only use about 30mins and less than 100 texts per month so im deffinately not one of the customers that makes them much money.
As i was paying £25 per month before I am quite pleased about this.
Also just recieved my first bill through today and for some reason while they were crediting me for the phone and other stuff they managed to put an extra £30 credit on my account so the first three months is free. Not bad at all.0 -
I had some fun with O2, hopefully my squabbling with them will help someone else out!
Started off by calling up and knocking them down to online 200 for £15 a month (they credited my account with £180 so I get 6 months free and 6 months full price, apparently that was the only way they could do that deal)... sounded ok to me so I went for it, got a free 6111 as well.
When the 6111 arrived I was really disappointed, felt like a flimsy piece of plastic and had loads of fiddly door things you had to prise open with your nails, plus it didn't take the standard nokia charger... so I called and returned it with my 14 day money back return slip.
A week later I called to negotiate a new handset, the guy I spoke to said that I could have a nokia 6230i or a SE z520i free as replacement, I went away to read reviews and think about it.
2 days later I called back to confirm that I wanted a 6230i, explained the situation and got told that I had to pay £20 if i wanted the 6230i. we argued round and round in circles and she said it was because it had more features than the 6111, that it also took the tiny non standard charger (lies) and that I could disconnect if i wanted. Not happy.
Called back again and spoke to someone else. She said no reason for me not to have the 6230i free, I foolishly mentioned the credit they'd given me to cover line rental and she said that I had already had my maximum credit and wasn't allowed anything more free and that i shouldn't have been given the 6111 in the first place as the line rental wouldn't cover the cost of it... kind of like giving with one hand and taking away with the other... really not happy.
Called back again, didn't say a word about the special deal, just said that I'd been offered the 6230i as a free upgrade at the start of the week (true) and that I had decided I wanted it (also true). my order went through fine as according to their system I'm on normal online 200... they only spot the credit if they have to look further so don't give them a reason to!
Hope that's some help if anyone's in the same situation0 -
Anyone got an email address for O2 Retentions please? Pretty sure I've delt with them by direct emails before. They ignore their 'Contact Us' forms and I'm sick of being sat in a queue at 10p/min. Got through earlier to be told they had system problems and could I call back later.0

Called O2 again today and got straight through
Spoke to a helpful guy who explained because my monthly spend is under £25 I'm in one of the lowest bands, hence only get offered the cheaper phones. They still don't know what W810i pricing will be and W800i would be £50 so I decided to stick with my Samsung D500 and get a free Motorola PEBL to sell on the bay for £150ish.
I've gone from Online 50 at £19/month to O2 100 (100 xnet mins, 500 texts) at £10/month so am pleased with that at least.0 -
I just got a really good deal (by calling 02), currently paying £45 per month for 800 minutes cross network, deal is 500 minutes cross network at £10 per month with a £100 credit (ie £20 for 12 months)
Can't believe it really, the best phone call I've made this year!!0
