Hi,
I am coming to the end of a 12 month contract on the 02 network with the Carphone warehouse. Can I avail of these deals even though I am a Carphone warehouse customer and not 02 direct and if so which number should I ring?
I currently pay £25 per month for 100 xnet mins and 100 txts which is over the odds, I read here somewhere that someone pays 02 £10 per month for same?0 -

Sorry the Discount 500/750 offer is only available to direct customers of O2 ie: someone who bought there phone in an O2 Shop or O2 Online etc etc0 -
Thanks,
Any ideas on how I could could get a good deal on 02 then, if I cancelled with Carphone warehouse where could I get best deal as new customer and what would that likely be?0 -
Didn't realise it was only for direct customers. Seems to imply that the retailer that signed you up (in my case mobileshop) keeps on getting referal fees for as long as you are a customer?
Anyone know? Just interested.0 -
Hi all! This is my first post and I thought I might as well dive straight into the nitty gritty world of the Tariff-Haggling.
I have had a bit of experience haggling to get the newer phones when I renewed my contract but I didn't realise that you could drop the tariff prices down so much and get so many minutes!! So anyway, I'm up for another renewal in a month and thankfully discovered this website after reading Martin's book.
My tariff: Genie Anytime200 £20 per month, Unlimited texts and 200 minutes to O2 network or landlines. (I have been with them for 4years)
So far I have been offered the following after several phone calls:
- 500mins Offpeak Xnet, 500texts, W800i phone = £25 (excl VAT)
- 500mins Offpeak Xnet, 500texts, W800i phone = £15 (excl VAT) - I mentioned that I was offered "discount500" previously.
- 500mins Anytime Xnet, 400texts, W800i phone = £26 (excl VAT)
- 500mins Anytime Xnet, 200texts, W800i phone = £19 (excl VAT) - I quoted the Three networks offer and asked if they could offer me anything else as Three were offering a headset, but they kept saying No
Will be calling them a little later today saying that I was offered the discount750 earlier today, and see what prices I get.Target Savings: Deposit on my first property by September 2010>>>[Savings: 40.00% Complete]<<<[Debt: £0.00p]0 -
Another good tactic to use is to tell the person who answers the phone that you spoke to <any name, eg.Joe> this morning and he offered you the discount750 at £15, or something like this and see what they say
If they ask you for "Joe's" full name or extention, just apologise and say you didn't catch it.
Happy haggling!Target Savings: Deposit on my first property by September 2010>>>[Savings: 40.00% Complete]<<<[Debt: £0.00p]0 -
Let us know how you get on later with your haggling!!0

Do you want/need a new phone? If not try seeing if they will go for one of the Sim only deals - I got 1000 texts and 200 Anytime minutes for £250 -
Nah, I don't need the actual W800i, but I do need the £150-£200 it fetches from Ebay, hehe.Target Savings: Deposit on my first property by September 2010>>>[Savings: 40.00% Complete]<<<[Debt: £0.00p]0

Been pushing and pushing and pushing all day and this is the best I could get out of them:
Discount 500 anytime xnet minutes, 300 texts, W800i phone = £19 per month
Discount 500 offpeak xnet minutes, 500 texts, W800i phone = £15 per month
They don't seem to be doing the 500 xnet anytime and 500 texts for £15 deal anymore
Can anyone shed some light on this?Target Savings: Deposit on my first property by September 2010>>>[Savings: 40.00% Complete]<<<[Debt: £0.00p]0
