Not a chance i woudlnt have thought. Read the terms of this deal as its toallty different to contract which your are in for 12.18 months this sim deal you can leave after only 1. Hardly likly after you have been with then for a month to offer you a free phone to stay on it.
There more likly to put you onto a 12 month contract if you want a phone.0 -

A little word of warning to everyone.
Once you have negotiated with retentions, email them and get them to confirm in writing what you have been offered.
My two sons have been shafted by O2 with retentions saying one thing and then doing another!
1. First son offered a K750i for free but no stock. 5 days later when they have stock, he's being told to pay £30. We argued but were told he should never have been offered it free. Fortunately he at least had the monthly spend confirmed in writing.
2. Second son was given a renewed contract for £10pm. First bill yesterday and they have charged him £15pm. We're waiting to see what the outcome of his email to them is.0 -
Outcome is "Sorry we've written down a different story and you can't prove it!"
We gave up on the £30 upgrade fee as we couldn't prove it but I've had enough of this. What they are doing is saying anything on the phone to kkep you and then doing something else.
Is Peter Erskine's (CEO) email still peter.erskineato2.co.uk?0 -

rang o2 today for upgrade. i want nokia 7370 - they dont have a release date yet.told them of osps offer below and they offered 100 mins 100 texts for £10/mth & free bluetooth hanset. (dont really like handsets he offered me.) these amt of mins would prob do me anyway - asked if i can accept their offer and get the phone when it arrives, but who knows how long it would be - he said i can do that ok.
OSPS, where i got my original deal, rang me offering nokia on orange - o2 200 with 3000 xnet w/e calls!!!! free line rental for 6mth so it would work out at £15/mth......but i want to stay on o2 as my so rings me from o2 mobile .....decisions decisions!!!0 -
Guess what - one of my son's friends has just been fleeced by O2 retentions as well!
He was offered a free V3i to renew his contract - seems they have charged him £80 for it and once again there is no note on his account just as with both my sons.
I have written to O2's complaint department and will be following it up with an email to Peter Erskine if I don't get a reply soon
This is a scam which needs stopped.0 -
I've just got my online bill for the past month and it's £20 more than it should be. I phoned CC and discovered the woman from Retentions I spoke to last month has totally messed up my account. First, she registered me as being a new customer, instead of a contract renewal, so I have been charged another month in advance. Then she put me onto the Online 100 tariff at £25 instead of just giving me 50 extra mins and reducing my £19 tariff to £15! So I've been charged 2 x £10 extra this month.
Lady I spoke to today said the ONLY way they could correct the a/c was to give me a refund of £20 and credit £100 to my a/c. I refused to accept these terms as it will mean I'm back to paying £25 per month again, later on in the year. She put me on hold (again) and said they had "found" the option to reduce my bill from next month, after all. And refund my £20.
I await my next bill with some trepidation! At least I've got her name, so I'll have someone to rant about if it all goes pear-shaped again!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0
