Oh, sorry, but how do O2 treats work then? If I am paying £15 a month for whatever, I am eligible for some treats on top? Are they any use?

    Ta.

I'm going travelling from May, so txt will be important/useful though I don't think I would send more than 100 a month (ie 400txt in package). (No i will not be using my mobile for voice calls, just txts) Since I am going travelling until my money runs out maybe an 18 month contract would make sense now?

You need to check that sending roaming texts will be included in the bundle, I am on O2 via CPW and my texts are charged at between 25p and 40p dependent on the destination. They are not taken out of my bundle

(I travel quite a bit with work, so this is an issue for me)

Just wondered what "other deal" people were referring to when they called up 02? I am struggling to find any considerably better deals so any suggestions would be great!

    Thanks :D

I just said "other deals are cheaper for same content" and was instantly offered half price line rental for 12 months with the same content (fine for me as the tariff is just about perfect for my usage). I had to call a few times before I spoke to an operator who gave the impression they would be flexible.
  • Not sure if this has already been posted, but the non-online retentions number is 0870 241 0202. I think they go through to the same people, the operator I spoke to gave said I'd come down the wrong number (thanks Matrix) and gave me the one above.

I think it has been mentioned but haven't checked but sure I did read it. Anyhow SayNoTo0870 lists 01274 388261 as the PAYG Retentions department. Both Online & Offline(Retail) PAYG are now answered by the same Cust Serv. This is definitely the retentions department as rung it several times and got great deals thanks to other MSE's.
  • I originally bought my handset and contract in an o2 shop - best deal at the time for some reason. This is coming into year 3 for me; year 1 was new contract year, year 2 (current) is 100 xnet min, 100txt for £9.99 a month, so year 3 will be.....

My txt from abroad are currently taken out of my bundle. But will check that when I ring again. Oh, calls of course are not taken out of the bundle.

Did I give you the wrong number??? I can't remember giving you any number for O2 Retentions!

Sorry, I didn't intend my post to be read in that way. It was a genuine thank you for posting the O2 online retentions number (several times earlier in the thread in response to others' enquiries) which I successfully used to get my new deal. Whilst I was on the phone to O2 the operator told me that as I was not an online customer I should have used the other number.

Apologies if my previous comment was taken to be sarcastic.
