  • My son renegotiated his contract a couple of nights ago. He was on 100 x network anytime minutes and 500 texts for £20 month (retention from last year). He was offered the same contract for £10 per month with a free upgrade. The phones he was offered weren't great so he ended up being offered 10 free months instead of the upgrade.

He has in effect got 100 x Net Minutes & 500 txts every month for an annual cost of £20:j (He didn't even have to threaten to leave!!!!)

They offered me 18 month contracts also but my phone aint working too good at the moment and pushed as far as i could, regardless of how good the tariffs were they guy refused and couldnt get the phone any cheaper than £ 109.

Tried the line of asking for a pac code which he actually gave me so i doubt im gonna get the phone any cheaper unless they drop the prices of the phone in the near future. Dont suppose any of you know of any price changes?

Got nothing from them worth having when i phoned.

Going to phone tommorow saying that as im a studnet orange are offering me:

120 minutes compared to my 60
1000 texts compared to my 500
a free d600e which o2 wish to charge me £160 for the privalage of upgrading to.

    For £25.

Im currently paying £19 pound a month and anything on top but for 6 pound more can get the above. Hope they can match the deal thats all i want them to do :D

Edit: Also forgot to say with the orange deal above your currently getting £50 pounds worth of credit on your bill aswell. Good deal?

tried O2 retentions last night and got offered 500 xnet and 500 texts for £31 or the same tarriff with rollover minutes for £35. Only stumbling block was that they cannot give me the N70 for anything less than £109 which I refuse to pay that amount for.

Also got told I could get Online 200 with 200 xnet mins and 500 texts with cashback which would turn out to be getting £10 credit per month should I not go outwith my tariff.

I need a new phone as my current phone is knackered, and got my heart set on an N70. Any suggestions as to what I could do and whether any of these two tarrifs are worth it?

    Cheers

Nokia N70 on Orange is available FREE on £25.00 per month plans and over (all 12 mth)

Your Plan 120 gives 6 months automatic half price line rental so would work out at £225.00 for the year (equivalent £18.75 p/m)

Direct Plans give more minutes & free texts but no half price line rental, phone still free, on £25.00 per month with 100 x net minutes and 500 texts, or £30.00 for 200 mins and 500 texts etc.

Don't forget to go via Quidco to save an extra £20

Had a good result this monring:

    £15 a month
    200 Anytime Cross Network minutes
    500 Free Texts

    Free nokia 6230i

Not bad at all i didnt think.
  • I am at the end of month 11 of my current 12 month contract so rang O2 today to give 1 months notice. Told them I had seen the following deal on a website:

    3 network 400 xnet mins, 250 texts free V3i for £15pm 12 month contract

    They offered:

500 xnet mins, 200 texts free w800i £12.50pm (half price line rental)
    12 month contract.

I took this offer as it seemed very good. Other phones that I asked about and were available were the W500i and the D600. The W900i was not available.

I also asked about another contract I have (discount 250) to see if I could upgrade the minutes and texts to the above tariff, I think they called it discount 500. They said that I should contact them again once my other contract had reached the 6 month point of my contract to ask about changing the tariff. So it may be that anyone can at least change their tariff to a better one at the 6 month point, although you won't get a phone upgrade until the 11 month point.

    Hope the above helps!
    and short arms!

Having recently got a fair deal on renewing my O2 contract, I was wondering if it would be possible to ask them for a second phone/contract at the same price? Would it be totally taking the Mickey? Anyone else tried it with O2?
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
  • Yeas I did it last year. Just ring CS on the frephone number and they should do the same tarrif - Alternatively Orange have some good deals at the moment with line rental discounts and cashbacks if you're interested they may match those.
