    Hi,

Ive been hanging around these forums for sometime but now ive decided to regster as this thread caught my eye.

Ive been with o2 since November 2004 and currently havent bothered ugrading my phone. Im on the £19 price plan and get 60 minutes and 500 free texts a month.

However being a studnet ive been looking at 3's deal which is 100 minutes and 10000 texts which would pretty much mean my bill wouldnt ever be more then £20 i guess.

Do you think i could swing a deal by phoneing retentions and saying im going to move to 3's deal?

    Thanks for any help!

Just to clarify, 3 offer 1000 not 10,000 texts on their student tariff. Wow....that would be over 300 texts a day!

    Certainly worth a try!!

I presume your an O2 Online customer, where you get your bill through the O2 website?

If this is correct then call O2 Retentions on 0870 600 7102 and explain your thinking of leaving to go to 3 as you have seen they offer a better range of tariffs with more mins and texts and it will be overall cheaper to go with them.

The advisor at O2 will ask you what exactly you have seen. Tell them you have seen 500 X Network Mins and 500 Texts for £20 per month.

The advisor at O2 should then offer you the Discount 500 tariff with 100 Free Texts and a choice of Free phone as an upgrade.

Remember when taking up this offer you will be commited for a further 12 months :)

    HTH

Will do the above :) also yes i am a online customer. Easier :)

    Thanks!

Ive been with o2 for 1 year, signed up in store on a 200 tariff thats gives 200 xnet mins and 50 text messages for £30 per month. Called o2 a few times.

First Call: £100 credit for keeping my phone, 200 xnet mins and 100 texts, £15 per month.

Second Call: Crappy phones on offer, 200 xnet mins and 100 texts, £15 per month.

Third Call: Nokia N70 (£99.99), 200 xnet mins and 100 texts, £15 per month.

Final Call: Nokia N70, (£29.99), 500 xnet mins and 100 texts messages, £15 per month.

She has to speak to a manager to get this deal. Was on the phone for like 35 mins, but well worth the wait.

A little thing she let me into, she said her boyfriend has a 18 month contract, with 750 mins and 200 texts for £15 per month, if anyone wants a deal then always quote thats been said a lot in this thread, that the "three" network has offered you this. Dont settle for the first deal if you get a crap one, ring them back. Best time to call: 4.55pm-5.05pm and 8pm-9pm, as she said thats the boring time when not many call, as the customer services closes down at 8pm and they are the ones that transfer most of the calls.
    Kind Regards
    Bill

Currently I'm on one of the leisure time tarrifs (not on-line) which is £20.00 per month. Been with 02 for over 10 years now. I get 500 mins off-peak and 100 text messages. I usually go over my text limit but only use around 15 minutes per month. On overage my monthly spend is around 25.00 (which includes my rental).

I'm looking to upgrade - I'd like the N70 is possible and to get a tarrif more suitable to my requirements - more text/less minutes.

First question - is there a freephone number to ring for cumstomer services, I've noticed some being mentioned but I wasn't sure if they were for on-line customers only. Also I saw mentioned that I could dial 100 from my handset and I wouldn't be charged - is this just on-line customers?

Secondly are 0870 numbers included in my 500 minutes if I ring during of-peak times.

I'm not so happy with 02 at the moment. They charged for all the text messages I sent on Christmas Day, even though I got reports saying "message not sent, try again later" - so I kept trying and I kept getting charged!

Also, still waiting for text confirmation after signing up to their Loyalty Rewards. That should have been received within 72 hours - two weeks later, I've still not heard!

    Hi Folks, Me again!!

Just phoned O2 Retentions again 30 mins later and asked them to beat the deal I was offered and now they are offering the following:

    Discount 500 - 500 X Network Mins
    500 Free Texts per month

    £15.00 per month

£75.00 Credit applied to my account straight away no need to wait for cashback etc etc.. as i want to keep my handset - This will be a new 12 month contract even though no handset taken

So that works out at -

    £15.00 x 12 months = £180.00 - £75.00 Credit = £105.00 for 12 months

Therefore = £8.75 per month after discount etc

is this contract or pay as you go?

Ok, I'm just out of contract now with 02 online so rang retentions last night to see what they would offer.

The girl came back with an offer of 200mins 600texts for £15 per month (i'm currently paying £30 for 200/500 and going over my texts, plus keeping an eye on my calls).
she also said that if i didn't upgrade my handset, she'd put a credit on my account for £100.

now with this being my first call to retentions, should I accept? ideally I'd have liked 50-100 extra minutes to be sure that I don't go over my allowance. i have a D500 at the minute which is fine but wrecked! so although I'd like the £100 I could also do with a new phone!

I took insurance on my phone - does this only last 12 months? If not you see, I could send it back for repair or replacement as it has genuinely had a few accidents in the last couple of months...

any advice (especially from the Mtrix) would be appreciated!

    Many thanks

Is that with an on-line contract or just a normal contract? Also are 200 minutes x network anytime? If so - that sort of contract would suit me fine.
