thats a good deal taxibear, you got rollover minutes which on 500/750 we dont, you got an extra 150mins & free phone for £8 less than you were paying, considering 100mins/100texts tariff @ £25 per month is a low revenue user well done thats a great improvement, for everyone make sure you can tell them a great deal from another network similar to DIS 500/750 rather than ask directly you may find you bag it then
again well done taxibear, seems for your usage of 100/100 you bagged a good 'aneIf I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:0 -
After reading this thread I bought an online sim and called to cancel before the first month was up.
I was passed onto retentions and was offered 200 mins and 500 texts for £15 per month. I was also offered a new handset, or £105 credit, I was going to take the handset but in true money savng style called back and got the credit to my account instead.
So I have ended up with 12 months of 200 min and 500 texts at a total cost of £75.There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -

Thank to this Forum and thread I've just had a pleasant O2 experience!
Currently on O2 200 min x-network package currently just overrun my calls by about £2-£5 per month.
I'm in my 11th month of contract due to expire 8th Feb 06.
Called O2 CS finally got through after 15 mins hold.
I was polite and chatty with the agent that answered the phone and explained that my contract is coming to an end and I've been looking around at deals, and 3 were doing some good deals at present, however I have always been happy with O2 CS and would prefer to stay.
I then said were they able to do anything. He immediately offered me the Discount 500 plus 100 txts at the £15 pm reduced rate and a choice of phones 15 he said.
I asked for the K750i he checked my spend over the last 6 months and confirmed I could have the phone FOC.
Delivery has been promised in 3 days!
So all in all a good deal ? :beer:0 -
Are these retention offers only for o2 contracts billed directly by o2?
I have been an o2 customer for about 5/6 years with about 3 different contracts BUT have always been billed via CPWI have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -

The Discount 500/750 tariff is not availble to customers who are billed via the Carphone Warehouse.
When you contract is up cancel the one at CPW and get a new one either at the O2 shop or O2 Online and you will become a direct customer of the network and get better retention deals.

Interesting post. Ive been on o2 for as long as i can remember now... probably at least 8 years. Since day one ive been on a "genie" sim only deal which is £12.50 a month. I get 600 free txts and 50mins off peak 02/landlines every day.
O2 have been very keen to get me off this tarrif for ages now. I usually overspent by 10quid a month. What do you think I could wrangle out of them?
Im a heavy txt`er so ideally id like something which gives me 500->1000txt a month and maybe 200minutes a month.0 -

Right... just phoned them up and gave them the usual spiel about thinking of moving, having been on o2 for years, have never upgraded and am not getting good value any more. She immediately offered me online 100 for 1/2 price. Which was 100mins any network any time, plus 500 free txt for 15quid a month. I said that really i need more minutes, so they up`d it to online 200 without any hestiation. Really I should have kept pushing if they had up`d it so easily, but i couldnt be bothered, so i took it.
Then onto the handset. She said i could have 75quid cashback, or a k700i / nec 411 for free. I asked about the k750i so she said that would be 50quid.
Interestingly because they cant discount phone tarrifs they will give me 180quid cashback immediately then just bill me 30quid a month for 12months. So, i get the interest on that money over the year.
The k750i is fetching 170->200quid on ebay. So, if i sell it for £170 it means im getting online 200 for 5quid a month. Plus am getting a new simcard and the ability to send/recieve multimedia messages which im not getting on my ancient genie sim.
All in all not a bad deal, but i know i could have got better if i pushed them.0 -
Just secured a tariff with David from retentions. I did quite well considering my spend is usually £25-30pm, although it took ten minutes of negotiation!
500 xnet anytime minutes.
100 texts - A little low but I send maybe 5 texts a month anyway, he wouldn't budge.
Free k750i, as mentioned above these sell for £170-200+ on ebay.
All for £15 pm.
Going on the basis I can sell the phone for £180 that means my tariff is actually costing £0pm, if I sell for more they are paying me.
