Just secured a tariff with David from retentions. I did quite well considering my spend is usually £25-30pm, although it took ten minutes of negotiation!

    500 xnet anytime minutes.
100 texts - A little low but I send maybe 5 texts a month anyway, he wouldn't budge.
Free k750i, as mentioned above these sell for £170-200+ on ebay.

    All for £15 pm.

Going on the basis I can sell the phone for £180 that means my tariff is actually costing £0pm, if I sell for more they are paying me.

    Martin.

    Good Stuff!!

Another great O2 Retention Deal :)

I have just received my fourth bill on the £15 a month 200 mins and 500 texts tariff.

Once again after yet more promises from the Complaints Review Service that they had sorted the problem out I have recieved a bill for the two phones totalling £60 not £30 as promised last month when the lady I spoke to credited my account £60 because the first 3 bills were wrong. Over the 4 months due to them crediting my account when they mess it up I have actually paid the correct amount. I have had to phone every month and every time I have been promised that it has been sorted out.

So at the moment financially I am all square. So I looked on the online statement for this months account and I see that my wifes phone has been adjusted to the correct tariff and a credit of £15 applied for the adjustment. Hooray they have got one right at least or so it would seem. Look at my phone and yep totally wrong again. So another call goes in to the Complaints review person I spoke to last month. She is at lunch can I get her to call you back. Yes please before 2 would be good. 4.30 she leaves a message on my home phone. So today I call again. She is on a break so I leave my number and no reply as yet.

I am spitting fire here. 4 months and still it is going to be wrong and I cannot get an answer from them. To cap it all the reason I contacted the CRS was because I consider the e720 phones I have to be a huge pile of crap. Allegedly I have all this talk time but I cannot use it as the phones are such poor call quality. They refuse to replace them and they cannot even get the bill right.

I am gonna put a rocket up someones backside tomorrow. I think I will tell them if the tariff is not sorted and the phones replaced immediately with top quality ones then they can take their phones / cheap tariff / contract and poor customer service and stick them somewhere rather impolite.

    Rant over

I will keep you informed of what happens.

I didn't ask you to care. I just wanted to point out that sometimes a good deal is not all it seems and can go wrong.

On another forum I visit there is a very good icon for helpfull people like you. Unfortunately this forum is far too polite and does not appear to have it.

  • DNKPets - please let us know how you get on with this, I think it's important that everyone knows about issues with offers like these, rather than only hearing about the offers themselves.

    Good Luck with it!

Please try and be helpful and polite to other Money Savers.

The OP is posting their experience of O2 and there is nothing wrong with that. Please keep comments constructive - Ta :)

    Hi,

Ive been hanging around these forums for sometime but now ive decided to regster as this thread caught my eye.

Ive been with o2 since November 2004 and currently havent bothered ugrading my phone. Im on the £19 price plan and get 60 minutes and 500 free texts a month.

However being a studnet ive been looking at 3's deal which is 100 minutes and 10000 texts which would pretty much mean my bill wouldnt ever be more then £20 i guess.

Do you think i could swing a deal by phoneing retentions and saying im going to move to 3's deal?

    Thanks for any help!

    Certainly worth a try!!

I presume your an O2 Online customer, where you get your bill through the O2 website?

If this is correct then call O2 Retentions on 0870 600 7102 and explain your thinking of leaving to go to 3 as you have seen they offer a better range of tariffs with more mins and texts and it will be overall cheaper to go with them.

The advisor at O2 will ask you what exactly you have seen. Tell them you have seen 500 X Network Mins and 500 Texts for £20 per month.

The advisor at O2 should then offer you the Discount 500 tariff with 100 Free Texts and a choice of Free phone as an upgrade.

Remember when taking up this offer you will be commited for a further 12 months :)
