It's an online contract, i've been with them for one year, the mins are xnet yes...
  • Thanks everyone! I just called O2 to cancel my contract as my bill was coming in at around £50 a month which was killing me. They offered me the discount 500 offer (which I was expecting thanks to this thread) and they said that this normally costs £25 but they would give it to me for 12 months at half price - so it will only cost me £12.50 a month (which I wasn't expecting!) - and it's only a 12 month contract too. They've also thrown in 100 free texts and they said I already had 100 free loyalty texts a month too - so I now have 500 mins and 200 texts all for the grand total of £12.50. :j Oh - and a brand new V3 - which I might sell as I quite like the phone I have :T Thanks again everyone. If it helps, the person I spoke to was Sarah.
  • ok.... spoke to paula at retentions and told her i phoned on weds asking to buy out of my contract,

however on weds david offered me 400mins and 500txts for £30. wasnt rlly happy with this but accpeted it anyway, spoke to her today after reading the lastest on here and she said because i was only with 02 from aug in order to receive anymore discount i would have 2 buy out for £175 or wait untill aug.

so really unless your with them for more than a yr nuffin can be done. but i was able to get more mins and txts from david on weds for a cheaper monthly charge than i was paying before, which wasnt too bad, but im raging...

ive give 02 £300 in 2mths through my phonebills and they say "no wait until august...."

    ahghghhhh

    O2 Online Contract
  • Hi I'd just like to share my good experience of o2 retentions, and hope someone else will find it useful.

I was on a retention deal already (£25pm for 500xnet mins and 400 texts - Sony Ericsson T630. They also gave me £30 as part of the deal.) This was a year ago.

Now I was all set to move to 3 on their online 1400 tariff as I wanted a Motorola V3x.

Today I rang to cancel, with full intention to do so. Pleasantly I was offered an even better deal, which I wholly didn't expect. I spent about half an hour on the phone and in my experience (and this is over 2 years of 'cancelling') I've found it's better to hesitate when they give you their offer.

So all in all I have the same contract reduced to £15, free insurance and a Motorola V3i - not the 3g equivalent V3x as the tariff would not have been available.

In short my deal is as follows:
    £15 pm - 500xnet anytime mins, 400texts.
    £0 pm free gold insurance.
£0 Motorola V3i (possibly including the Bluetooth headset - CS wouldn't say for sure.)

Thanks to those in the forum whose posts I've found useful. I've thanked you via the apporpriate button.

Hope some of you find this useful. Hesitate not demand is my style :rotfl: .

Updating you on my problems with O2

Allegedly (again) it is all now sorted out. Both phones will be on online 200 from next bill and I have been credited £15 for the one that wasnt done correctly this month.

However looking at my online bill again, as far as I can see the original credit for my wifes phone (£15) has now disappeared to be replaced with the one that was added today for £15 due to customer dispute. My phone still is showing all sorts of different texts and time etc.

It would apear from my interpretation of my online bill that my phone is still on the O2 200 tariff and has a £15 credit to make it £15 on the bill. My wifes phone seems to be on Online 200 but without the £15 credit that it had untill mine was added.

So as a result I sm expecting my unbilled summary to convert on the 16th of Feb to a bill of £45 and the tariffs to still be wrong.

I will keep you updated. Watch this space.

tried O2 retentions last night and got offered 500 xnet and 500 texts for £31 or the same tarriff with rollover minutes for £35. Only stumbling block was that they cannot give me the N70 for anything less than £109 which I refuse to pay that amount for.

Also got told I could get Online 200 with 200 xnet mins and 500 texts with cashback which would turn out to be getting £10 credit per month should I not go outwith my tariff.

I need a new phone as my current phone is knackered, and got my heart set on an N70. Any suggestions as to what I could do and whether any of these two tarrifs are worth it?

    Cheers
  • I was on online 100 (100 mins, 500 tets, £25 a month) and managed the other evening to get:
online 200 with rollover, 500 texts, free 6111 handset for £15 a month - or rather, 6 months free and then 6 months at £30 as they just threw cash into my account.

they tried to get me to go to an 18 month contract to get extra minutes and texts for the same price but i wasn't having any of it, then they offered me online 200 for £20 a month, then finally came back with £15 a month when I was hesitant about the cost... I reckon I could have pushed them further than that but it sounded ok to me so I went with it.

there are some very odd things happening on their 3g tariffs

    1000 minutes, 150 texts, or 750 + 750, £35 a month, Nokia N70 £50 (18 month contract)
