O2 New Retention Tariff Discount 500 / Discount 750

I posted in here about a month ago.
I was told i would be emailed when the K750i would be in stock, i was told by Dave that he would write a note saying i could get it for £10, and he would write a note down saying i could get it for that price for when i ring back!
A month later I havent got the email, and I rang up and was quoted £30, and apparently there was no note saying i could have it for £10.
I'm pretty angry because I knew i wasnt going to get an email, and apparently there was no note left saying what price i could get it for.
So basically i was lied to so "i wouldnt move to 3"?
Any suggestions? £30 is obviously good for that phone, but it isnt good when you were quoted £10 the first time around. :mad:0 -
I'm not going to be of much help to you but exact same scenario for my son. He was offered the K750 for free along with the discount tariff but the phone wasn't in stock. When the phone was in stock he was told it was £30 and they told us he should never have been offered it for free. We spoke to about 3/4 different people and they wouldn't budge - problem was he really wanted the tariff and had to accept the cost of the phone.
He's still angry about it but it's his word against theirs.0 -
jem16, dont suppose you know who you spoke to who originally offered the free phone?0

Somebody called Steve. Each time we phoned we would ask for Steve. We either got told he's not here at the moment but will get him to call you - he never did, or "never heard of him", or h'es out, I'll deal with it. We even got told it was company policy for whoever answered to deal with it and not to pass on.0

Yes the agent said he would try and phone Dave (think his full name is dave wright since there must be more than one dave. It's written down on your call history they have so the "never heard of him" is a lie), put me on hold, but he said he wasnt avaliable. Don't know if he actually did try and ring, or just pretended to try and calm me down.0

My current contract is:
50 anytime mins 500 txts - £18.99 per month
(nokia 6600)
Im looking to get the Motorola V3x, i have been quoted a handset price of £160 which is a bit much. The only other contract i can see so far is vodafone
125 Anytime mins 250 txts - £20 per month
handset £80.00
i told the customer service woman this and she said she wouldnt be able to give me anything like that and offered me a NEC phone for £20 upgrade which was a bit of a kick in the teeth!(apologies to anyone who has this:))
anyway any ideas would be great
** Success!! got Motorola V3x 100 mins, 500 texts for £15 per month
El_nino can you tell me how you go the Motorola V3x for free? That's a really good deal and the phone I'm after at the moment. I'm basically out of contract now so ready to negotiate with O2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

0870 600 7102 This number....is it for On-Line retentions only?....I have the misfortune to be a branch customer where the tariffs are all rubbish if you love to text so am not sure this number will help me out.
I rang to cancel my O2 contract which still has 12 weeks to run (O2 customer for 3 years £45pm average bill) and the bext they could offer me was a contract with just 100 texts a month.
Really love the online 750 mins and 750 texts for £35pm one and want to swap!0 -
The 0870 600 7102 number is the Retentions Dept for online but as far as i am aware they will also deal with offline customers who get their bills in the post.
Just call them up and say that your thinking of leaving to go to 3 as there offering x amount of mins and texts.. Ask them for the Discount 500/750 tariff, if you don't ask you don't get0 -
