  • Has anyone revieved any bills after being upgraded through O2 online retentions?

    I upgraded on 01/10/05 from O2 online 200 @ £30 pm to O2 online 200 @ £15 pm, basically half price line rental for 12 months with a free SE K750i.

Within a few days phone arrived and thought all was well. Next billing date (02/11/05) I notice that I have been charged £30 line rental, called O2 online customer service and they agree that the amount is wrong and should be £15. The agent arranged a refund of £15 to show on my next bill.

Next billing date 02/12/05, refund is showing but line rental is still being charged at £30. Called O2 online customer services who said they there is no way of changing the line rental amount in their system to reflect the deal that was agreed with retentions and the only solution was to credit a lum sum of £180 to my account.

This took a couple of days and an email to the CEO to sort out but is now showing in my unbilled usage.

I don't understand why the retentions team offered the reduced line rental if the systems could not support it?!

    Anyone else had this problem?

Give the Retentions Team a call instead of the number customer service number and they should be able to sort this out for you as they have the authority to change line rental prices and apply credits etc etc..

  • just seen this thread, some awesome tips here!

I have an online £20 contract for 2 years, useually spend about £25. I SWEAR i was on online500, but apparently im on online 300, which really confused me. My contract renewed a couple weeks ago and im wondering if it got changed somehow. I cant seem to find an online detailed bill from past months to check this up. I want to know if I was screwed over, or if i was just thick. anyway...

Rang up 08706007102, and spoke to Dave.

I said that three had offered me 500mins/500texts + phone for less than i currently pay. He asked if it was from 3!

anyway he offered me 500 anytime anynetwork for £10, and 100 text for £5, and a K750i for £10 (which isnt in stock, i have to ring up in a couple weeks when he sends me an email saying its in stock - Wonder if i'll get the mail). The k750i made me laugh because i had rung up a week ago asking for an upgrade and they wanted £80!

I was hoping for a few more txts, but he said that would be more money, he said the 100 text was a standard bolt on rather than he just types in a number. I rarely go over 100, but it would be nice to get as good a deal as some of the others here.

Anyone got any tips for how i could squeeze a few more txts out of them when i ring back in a couple weeks for my phone?

    Thanks :)
  • Hi Joobs,

I'm waiting for the K750i too, been ringing for the past week as they tell me to call as they should be getting a del. Still no joy though, spoke to a manager tonight as the online shop has stock but he told me they have a different stock to the retentions upgrades. Did they give you any time scale on the K750i ? And as for texts it's worth a try pushing for more, maybe you could go for a few less mins if they can offer you more texts ?

    Regards

    Paul

    Hi Joobs!!

Welcome to MSE.Com and to my thread which I can't believe how many people have read!! Its overwhelming!! :)

Anyway, regarding the question about getting extra texts.. You can try asking the advisor for extra texts and pushing them a little further but to be honest you have got a cracking deal!!

500 X network mins - £10.00 per month is amazing, thats a whopping 8hrs and 20mins worth of inclusive calls.

The 100 texts you have is a 100 text bolt on which cost £5 anyway, try getting the advisor to give you the phone for free since your having to wait for delivery.

Its usually a good idea to say how great the O2 network and customer service is to the advisor as this tells them that your a customer who is likely to recommend someone else so they will want to keep you in their good books.

All in all though - A good deal and you've saved yourself some cash! This is exactly what this website is all about!
  • Yes Matrix this is an awesome thread :)

the price for anytime any network is amazing.

Yeah he was only offering me the texts as the bolt on deals. I did ask him a few times for some more but he would only quote me the bolt on deals, and said if i go over the 100 i could upgrade to the 200 bolt on (bringing my contract up to £19) just by ringing up. Wasn't quite what i had in mind.

As for the phone, he kept trying to give me the 700i for free, and when i asked he offered me the 750i for £10 as a *special deal*, and that i must quote the fact he said i could have it for £10. That's still very good value since i'm sure they must be making a loss on me now?

mnsfldpaul, He said he was expecting stock in either close of play friday (so thats monday then?), or the friday after. And he would send me an email. If you do have any luck could you please post on here, because i'd be very surprised if i do get sent an email when the stock arrives!
  • Thanks Joobs, if I have any luck I will let you know. If you could let me know if you hear anything that would be great !

    Cheers

    Great thread!!

Just tried O2...... ive got the O2 online 200 (double mins and texts). Tried to upgrade to a Sony Ericsson W800i with the best tariff possible.

Best they would give me was online 200, £40 for the phone at £24 per month :-(

    Bummer......
Is the glass half full, or half empty??
  • I'm still dithering about whether to stay with O2...

Now that 3 aren't doing the silly cashbacks, is there still the same pressure on O2 to compete with them?
  • my contract with O2 is up today.
it's the online 200 tariff with 200 xnet anytime mins+500 texts for £30/month.
my monthly bills from Aug this year have all been around £80-£85...so i'm looking at you guys to help me out here.
i rarely go over the 200 minute allowance, but my text messaging is in the region of 750-850/month.
a small allowance of GRPS data would be handy too.

whether there is a tariff i don't know about or if you lot can come up with one featuring bolt ons i don't know.

    any help much appreciated.
